Been waiting for this to drop in price for ages.

Wish I'd never bought a Blu-ray drive, it just leads to endless tempting deals X)
Looking at my bank balance I might have to let this one go.
#10
Is this the remastered version where they sorted the compression out or something?

1080p?
#11
Very tempting, but some reviews on Amazon seem to suggest that upscaled DVD offers "not worse" quality. Don't want to spend £13 to find out the quality wasn't up to par!

There is a Special Edition with minor audio/video improvements and additional content.
However there is a known issue with overblown contrast on some episodes. Following complaints they have corrected the problem and there are new copies in circulation, unfortunately you cannot guarantee you will get the new version and may have to send away the discs if the issue bothers you. The cheapest I have seen it is £16.99 @ Zavvi.

Ordered. Another BR to sit on my shelf alongside I Robot!

Do not expect te quality o this to be on par with a usual bluray movie. I have this and it honestly isnt much better than dvd quality. A good watch, shame about the low resolution.
#18
This is one of the older blu rays. Must say the quality isnt that great, wish they would release a 1080p version.
#19
Bargain red hot deal for me
#20
Hmmm, I'm tempted . . . can anyone recommend a decent bluray player for not too much money? Under £100.
#21
Oops sorry forget it. Comments now saying the quality of this bluray isn't that great. Thanks anyway.
#22
Great deal, ordered

Got this on Hd-dvd and the quality is stunning. Don't know what people are whining about

@people commenting about quality, I'm not sure of it myself, but I decided all the positive reviews on Amazon outweigh the few negs. And for £12.99... this is really a steal. :)

My view as well..... just under 400 5 star reviews, opposed to just a few bad reviews. Also its only 4 quid more than the DVD set.

There was some confusion about resolutions initially, but the UK version was/is 1080p (for the majority anyway).

I bought my copy about 3-4 years ago, on the back it says 1080i. So have they a new version with 1080p?

The packaging said 1080i but i believe the main programme was in 1080p. Apparently it had something to do with the vast amount of different cameras used, but the menus IIRC were in 1080i as was the final disc/last episodes however the rest was 1080p. It all got a bit confusing but AFAIK the UK version was, for the majority, 1080p. Even the BBC at one point were answering queries and telling people it was 1080i.

Great price

Well i received my box set and it does say 1080i on the back.... but the picture quality is awesome. Easily as good as any other Blu Ray i own. Well worth buying.
