any deals for blu-ray version?

Nice cheap price but noticed its only 4 discs approx 7hours whereas my copy is 5 discs 550mins (9hrs 10mins)
Whats its missing?
#3
I'm concerned that this might be the 4 disc Discovery channel version narrated by Sigourney.
The BBC version is definitely 5 discs - The fifth disc being 1080i extras.

Going by the reviews it is a five disc HDdvd box set. As original series was released in 2006 on DVD, it might be mix up on play's site.

This will def be the UK version. 1. Play won't sell region 1 i doubt and 2. it says narrated by RA.

going cheaper and cheaper everyday, got mine for £15.99 from Hmv back with a £2 voucher someone donated me :D

If you read the reviews on Play, someone clearly mentions that the box says 1080i but if you play it and check your TV, it will be 1080p. This makes sense really. No point in BBC wasting millions and countless hours making something less superior. Anyway, thats my opinion but il find out when my copy comes.

im only stating
im not complaining the there was no warning of this

Its mentioned all over the place, time and again, the uk release was mis-printed as 1080i. Trust me, I bought it a few weeks back from HMV, popped in disk 1, my player said 1080p as did my Sony 1080p tv.

for those of you who have xbox hd-dvd though it will only be 1080i as thats all the xbox can output but the difference between 1080i and p you seriously cant tell with your eyes.

yeah the one I have has 5 discs but it clearly states on the header 4 discs and then when you enlarge the cover it shows 4 disc set at the bottom right - so either a mistake bt play and given wrong info and used wrong DVD cover or it is only a 4 disc set and I was just curious then as to what would have been missing ;-)

That's not quite correct. It can output 1080p over VGA or HDMI. 1080i is over component.
#16
I think the xbox hdplayer can output 1080p but only through a hdmi or a vga connection, component is only 1080i whilst using the hd player, something to do with copyright laws on the films ...

Planet Earth is only 1080i anyway - says so on the box.

Looks great on my £10 Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive and Sharp Aquos 1080p tv though!
