extra £100 now, they just emailed me
I ordered a soda convertible it transpired it was a skip :-)
Old joke. Funny once when it was relevant, but it's about as funny and relevant now as all the jokes about Aldi made by losers who still think it's downmarket from Morrisons and Tesco! X)

And people who can't spell or understand the rules of grammar.

Voted hot. Skoda's are brilliant cars & part of the VAG group.
I wouldn't personally buy one, but they are bulletproof for none badge snobs ![/
[quote=Newbold]Every bit as good as, and probably better than, the equivalent VW and made from exactly the same components - the main difference being that the Czech employees are more motivated to produce quality cars than their German counterparts.
Somewhat cheaper than that equivalent VW, though - and with a substantially better service network rated much more highly than the VW dealerships.
They use old floor plans and components to equivalent audi/vw.... Cos we all look out for that Czech quality engineering don't we....

If you spent 2 minutes doing even the most basic of research then you know that the VW Up is built in the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant in Slovakia (which is not Czech by the way) along with the the CitiGo and Mii.

Here are a list of "German" cars that are built in Slovakia:
Audi Q7
Porsche Cayenne
Volkswagen Touareg
Golf Syncro four-wheel drive
Skoda Citigo

It amazes me how many idiots still spout this "German build quality better than Czech build quality" nonsense.

From what I gather both dealers and cars are no longer as good as they were on a cost for quality basis. But that is not a problem for Skoda as they are making more money per car then used to. Looking out from my windows on company car park and on the paperwork for new cars Skoda does not feature as heavily as it did.
Check this out:
Skoda 9th for reliability, VW 24th - and these statistics come from Warranty Direct, which knows what it's talking about:This 'reality check' is only possible thanks to the data acquired over more than a decade by Warranty Direct on the hundreds of thousands of cars it has covered and the millions of pounds worth of claims it has paid to keep UK motorists mobile.
You should really stop posting that link, as it is ridiculous, Daewoo and SsangYong are rated above Mercedes, while Porche is second last, with last being Bentley.
Seriously? Fiat, Alfa Romeo are all better than most German cars?
Let's once and for all forget about this ridiculous link.
Forget it if you like - but it's still about the best independent research published on the subject, and they have no axe to grind. Do you have anything better to share? :D
I would like to share a bit of common sense, and if you could address the point I raised that would be great.

Daewoo, ssangyong, fiat, alfa romeo all looks better than german cars according to that link. Vauxhall as well, French cars as well. It seems to be precisely the other way aroind most people experienced cars.
