you'd be much better off with something like truecrypt or pgp
recently got a sandisk 32gb for ~£12 and its slow as molasses but what can you expect for this kind of money? note that the play.com own brand ones are usually the slowest on the market (well, maybe mymemory are worse?!) and are made from pretty crappy plastic with naff lids.

When using this, do you have to have administrative rights on the computer in order to unlock the usb and use it on that computer?

With a 3rdware piece of software i would think not...with Wins 7 ulitmate i would think yes.
I have not used this software but i do wonder what will happen if we uninstal it and then try to acces a usb that has been passcoded with it.
