Not seen class 10 at this price before.

To test your SD card or any flash memoryand identify fakes:

Run H2TESTW (will identify the fake ones from fleabay that incorrectly show their size, e.g. a 16Gb MP3 player that in reality only has 4Gb) and then run Crystal Disk Mark to benchmark speed.

Anyone care to offer advice on if this would be suitable for a boot device for an Atom based low power media server ie. is it quick enough ?

Not sure. You could try the Duracell one which can transfer at up to 30MB per second here

Very good price for the capacity and class. Heat added.
#15
Would this be good for my full HD camcorder?

I have to stop checking Hot UK deals... damn good deal! I have a 4GB card from Play and it never failed me. I'm really tempted, never seen it so cheap

On a previous thread I asked if how to check flash mem the way your pc can say run a smart test on the hdd. Some way of measuring the drive performance before finding out the hard way the drive has gone kaput.

Well here is the best i've found since so hope those peeps are around to learn of its existance

there is a link on there to the author's web too and the soft is free.

Basically it checks for errors and does a speed tests while doing that.

#21
Ordered and have a little heat from me!
#22
Nice one. Just what I need for my new camera :-)
#23
Surely if it's advertised as class 10 and it turns out not to be you're entitled to a full refund?
#24
Thanks OP, just ordered one, not got my camera yet but this is a great price so didn't want to miss out. It's processing as awaiting stock now, so no idea when/if they'll get more in...

After the incident with the class 10 PNY Micro_SD cards that turned out to be unbranded and not class 10, I'll pass on Play.com.

Your DSLR's speed will be limited by the camera and not the speed of the card, so a Class 10 won't normally make any difference.

cheers, ordered.

Just ordered one and when paying it said 'status - Awaiting Stock'

Hope its not going to take weeks to come! oO

Also ordered one and got the 'Awaiting stock'
A great find :D

Hot. They also have 16GB Class 10 Micro SD cards for £17.99.
#33
Would this be good for my full HD camcorder?

I'd check very carefully, as I tried Class 10 in my Canon HG 20 and it didn't recognize it. The operating booklet states anything above Class 4 is fine, but when I spoke to Canon, they advised it will will only work to Class 6!!
#34
£13.89 now, 10p cheaper!
#35
Expired now, back up to £17.99
