Don't forget QuidCo too! :)

Good deal for those who've picked up a cheap HD Dvd player
#3
That was quick. Was looking at their prices earlier and they were all full price. Guess they decided now was the time what with amazon dropping their prices earlier today. More UK retailers to follow me thinks.

Another hot deal. My kids inheritance is dwindling by the day thanks to hotukdeals!

Over the last coupld of days I have bought the toshiba ep30 or whatever its called plus the 7 dvds, heroes series 1 and Atonement, Elizabeth golden age and children of men as part of the 3 for £20 on play.com

Sum total: £110. Cost of buying them all at the original selling price: £830 (roughtly)!
#5
Great deal!
#6
Zavvi or what ever near me have taken all the stcok off the shelf..

i guess most will go back to supliers and be sold off cheap
#7
I used to roll my eyes when people would tell me that they can't stop smoking or drinking, now I can't stop buying HD DVDs

It's a disease!
#8
Excellent deal I think and thanks to the OP, have now got the rest of the Bourne films and also Backdraft.
#9

Atonement out of stock :x
#13
its about time play got with it and started reducing them now while there is a spirt on, i see theres only a few worth getting and some are still far too expensive.
van helsing + the mummy returns are a must for any film buff these are worth having on hd.
#14
All that Van Helsing is good for, for any kind of film fan, is to prop up something or as a doorstop:-D
#15
Shaun of the Dead and hot Fuzz in there, tempted but might holdo ut a little longer!
#16
Just ordered Big Lebowski, Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Identity. It said Bourne Identity was out of stock but the order went through @ £19.98 anyway, anyone know if they will likely get it back in again?. If not will I still only be charged £6.66 for the remaining DVDs? :).
#17
Good deal, at last.

Mind you I am holding out, the films on offer aren't the greatest available on HD DVD, wait for the entire catalogue to come down, which will be very soon.
#18
wow £6.66 per HD DVD - awesome price :)
#19
Are HD DVD's backwards compatible, like so can u play a hd-dvd on a standard dvd player, making it come out in standard quality?

Incidentally, you can add more than 3 to your basket and go through checkout (pay for them)...it will bring them all down to £6.66 regardless of how many you put in, as long as it's 3 or more.

you can kind of do that if you get the "Combo" discs - HD on one side, DVD on the other - Hot Fuzz & 300 come to mind :)

I'm so glad Blu-Ray won the format war!!! I do have both formats but looks like I'm going to be buying a lot of HD-DVD's.
#29
I'm sorry but no post about HD DVD's is a "hot deal". It's dead.

Yeah, the fact is, some of them have just been released and like within a week or two the prices have been slashed!

I got Stardust for £6 @ DVDCrave and that was going for £19 on Play.com

Yeah, you're absolutely right. That will explain why this is on over 200 degrees of heat after only a few hours, nobody is interested.

Having recently purchased a Toshiba HD-EP30 from Play.com, my next idea was to purchase Bourne Ultimatum in high definition. Whilst contemplating whether to buy it in HD-DVD or Blu-Ray I realised the Bourne movies are under Universal who are exclusively contracted with HD-DVD. So yet another reason for short term migration to HD-DVD!

Hmm, well, yeah, but all the HD-DVD exclusive stuff will turn up on Blu-ray eventually - but it certainly won't be THIS cheap for a loooooong time. :-D

Just ordered Bourne Identity, Ultimatum and The Kingdom saving over £30, not bad that. Would order a few more but already spent more than I should on some others from elsewhere.

I wish the people being negative towards hd-dvd would stop posting in these topics. We all know its dead and don't care. Anyway I've just got 3 and a cheap king kong which I wanted. I just wish it came free with the HD-DVD player like in the USA.
