Wow seems a great deal am adding some heat!

Dont really need one of these but tempted to order anyway (camera currently has a 2GB), is this a excellent deal or just abit below what I could pick one up for?

It's one of the best prices, but not significantly cheaper than elsewhere. Just the usual memory price drop.

You can get a faster 4GB card for £4.99 at 7dayshop. The stinger is the £4 p&p, but if you are getting more than one, it works out the same or less than the Play.com offer.

Cheap!

is a play-branded card going to be less reliable than a big name like Kingston? Or are they all the same?

wouldn't want to be more likely to lose 4gb of holiday photos at the end of a trip due to having tried to save a couple of quid...

I'd always spend a little more and get a branded one - that plus the fact this is only Class 4.

I have ordered several from play.com before. If you peel off the Play sticker on the sd card or look carefully on the back you should find its a branded toshiba card that are made in Japan.

Its a pity as up to 1pm today their postage was reduced to halfprice.

I ordered one of these from Amazon and it wouldn't work in my camera - so I presume it's not compatitble being SDHC - how can you tell if you camera etc will work with one of these?
#10
camera should have SDHC logo if its compatible, or check for a firmawre update, quite a few fairly recent cameras have firmware updates to add SDHC support, eg my fuji f40fd has an update available.

True, but it's worth having a shufty through 7dayshop all the same. There are a lot of bargains to be had - particularly with compact flash and all sorts of odds and sods. I've spent £125 over the weekend with them stocking up on memory and camera bits and bobs. The postage is a minor annoyance along with the long delivery times, but the savings are worth having.

This Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse, for instance, gets good reviews at Amazon, but is over £6 cheaper than there and half the price of the high street.

Do you know what kinda warranty is offered? It's still Class 4 - not really good for camcorders etc.

Not too sure on the warranty, but there are hundreds of good reviews for that particular memory card. I have had mine for a while and had no problems with them. I also have a sandisk 4gb extreme 3 and had no problems with that either. I can notice a diffrence when im using my dslr camera on raw setting and using continous shooting the sandisk extreme 3 is noticably faster, But i paid more for the sandisk,

The sandisk extreme 3 is £16.99 delivered from Play and comes with a sdhc card reader, or £13.83 + delivery from amazon with no reader
