Worth reading the 23 Customer Reviews to see if you might have compatibility problems.
#3
One of the reviews says all you need to know. This is SDHC, a new standard above a normal SD card that allows faster write/transfer speeds, designed with high megapixel cameras and high def in mind. People are buying this thinking it is a normal SD card when it's not which is why the "this does not work" reviews are popping up, whatever you are putting it into needs to be SDHC capable. I use one of these cards in a panasonic TZ3 and it works like a charm.
#4
Anyone know of any mp3 players that you can put these in? None I know take SDHC cards. If any do then it'll be perfect when the 8gb versions get cheaper and the 12gb ones come out.
#5
I'm quite looking forward to the Micro SDHC cards that are coming out (I have a CycloDS YAY!!!) These babies' stats say that they can go up to 32gb.

I don't think it will work. Its SDHC card not an SD.
#10
It's probably only a class 2 card
#11
Its class 4 - says c4 on the card. 4MB/s data transfer for those who dont know!
#12
Ah, that's cool then
Gonna grab one
#13
I think you need a special memory card reader as well, As a normal SD Card reader won't work with this card

Thanks,
I've used SDHC cards in a number of Canon IXUS cameras and have had no problems with them at all. My current camera - an IXUS 75 - works like a charm with a 4GB card! :)

Anyone know? If grubbymitts is right and these will go up to 32gb then this is the final thing that the mobile manufacturers need to mount a serious challenge against the iPod.

Good deal Edi. Voted hot.

Other web reports suggest that SDHC is not supported on the Wii.
If you find this is different then please let us know

Nope, you need a memory stick duo for the psp. An SD (and SDHC) card won't fit in your slot (ooooooer). 4 Gb memory stick duo are around £35.
#22
This will also not work on many PDA they are still using the old standard, good price though so voted hot

Voted hot, excellent deal and just bought one for use in my nikon d80

these cards will defintely go up to 32GB in the future as this seems to be the limit of a FAT32 formatted memory card.

The Cowon D2 is meant to be one of the best flash based MP3 players out at the moment:
http://www.cowonglobal.com/product/product_D2_feature.php

and it will accept any size SDHC card so at the moment you can expand the 4GB version to 12GB by adding a 8GB SDHC card

Play.com - well known for their quality electronics production:? , sorry I wouldn't use it even if it was free! Especially not in a camera...

I doubt very much that play actually make them much like the supermarkets "make" their own brand cornflakes, toothpaste etc.. I also don't see why it would be especially bad in a camera, mine's been working fine although I've only got room for another 1000 or so full resolution pictures, bummer.

If you're going to knock it it might be worth explaining on what grounds you are doing so other than apparent, personal judgement.

There are three classes of SD Speed Rating, in order to qualify they have to maintain a minimum sustained write speed of either 2 MB/s (Class2); 4 MB/s (Class 4) and 6 MB/s (Class 6).

Given the price it'd be pretty safe to assume it's a class 2, however at £15.99 and 4Gb's of space I still think that's a bargain. Voted hot.

Downloaded and installed the firmware update for my EX-Z1000 to support SDHC.

Other manufacturers may have firmware update to support SDHC - check on their sites or just google it.

Voted hot.

Sweet! Thank you very much. :)

Just need to upgrade my camera now.

More info on SDHC card :-

SDHC is the new designation for SD cards larger than 2GB that adhere to the SD 2.00 specification, a completely new design that is required for cards and hosts to support 4GB to 32GB capacities. The specification was developed by the SD Association, an industry standards board, which also defined three speed classes for speed and performance capabilities. These cards adhere to the SD Speed Class Rating specification which defines a minimum sustained transfer speed for SDHC cards 3.

Superb - away on holiday next month, this is perfect for my Panasonic DMC-L1 and LX2.

Now find me a similarly good deal on 4GB CF cards! I bought a 133x one from mymemory a couple of months ago at 18 quid but they seem to have gone up since then.

Many thanks, just ordered one for my Canon A710 IS which is suppose to support SD HC.
#36
Thanks. just ordered one for my just ordered Nikon D40x!

Mine arrived this morning. As suspected, doesn't work with my Canon Ixus 800.

I guess I'll just have to upgrade! *sigh!* :-D
#38
Many thanks to OP. Card arrived yesterday and works fine in my Panasonic DMC-FZ8.

For those looking for a cheap card reader, Play.com sell the Sitecom MD-014 / 63 in 1 / USB 2.0 Multi Memory Card Reader at £12.99 - although it is currently out of stock. Works fine with this SDHC card.
#39
I have one of these cards and nothing reads it. Waste of money if you ask me.
#40
Did you check compatibility before hand? This is not compatible with all SD card readers, only SDHC card readers.

John
