Play.com 8GB SDHC Class 6 Memory Card - £17.99 @ play

This Play.com SDHC memory card has a high storage capacity and fast data transfer so that you can store your digital content such as high-resolution photos, high definition videos and more without the restrictions of memory card size and data write-speeds of the past.

Class is dependent on the write-speed of the card, the higher the 'Class', the faster the memory card. This card is Class 6.

Please check the device you are buying this card for is SDHC compatible. SDHC cards are not backwards compatible with standard SD Host devices.

I've added a price and retailer name to the thread title, which we usually try to show :)

good deal.

Great price. I paid £17 for a class '4' 8GB card a month ago.

Voted cold because I needed this information yesterday, when I bought an inferior card for a similar price. :(

Obviously that's not true, but it's annoying. Ah well...

#7
Most likely not.

Also, I would not buy this, when this is available on the same website and also in MicroSD form (it should come with an adapter to SD). http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3564175/Sandisk-Micro-SD-HC-8GB-Memory-Card/Product.html

'It should come with an adaptor' does not mean that it will. However for those that have spare adaptors this will not present a problem. It is however class 4 not class 6. For some this will not be an issue, but for most class 6 is preferable to class 4. Perhaps you were unaware of this.

EDIT: that class 4 micro sd does come with an adaptor.

SDHC works in my EEEpc, however not in my boyfriends Toshiba laptop (2-3 years old).
However, it can be used on it with a Poundland card reader!

I can also confirm that it DOES NOT COME with and adapter. Mine from play came with a mobilemate card reader, ssentially converting a microsd into a usb without an adapter. The 4gb i bought came with an adapter and a white micromate which read sdhc cards.

Cold! (Sorry)

I got one for less than that last month via Amazon marketplace. *Rummages* it is now £1 cheaper than a month ago:

£16:43 (free p&p or pay £1:99 less and £1:99 postage, take your pick)
Transcend 8Gb SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000P9ZBFA/sr=/qid=/ref=olp_tab_new&sr=&seller=&colid=&condition=new

SD systems are not capable of addressing more than 8GB of storage, it has to use the extended HC protocol.

Not on an SD slot,
many car stereo's only support up to 1gb of SD card, and not SDHC.

If there is no mention of SDHC, but only SD then i think you will not have luck!

Same for me, HC cards work on the eee but wouldn't work on my Advent tablet PC, that would only take old SD cards (maxed out at 2gb!)

For those not fussed by the class 6, the same card but class 4 is available for £14.99

you can store your digital content such as ..... without the restrictions of memory card size and data write-speeds of the past.

In the future, this card will also be seen as restricted when it comes to size and speed.
