I've got the 4G version and it's a bit slow copying but it's dirty cheap and hasn't busted after 6 months so I'd recommend it.

Buy this: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5722174/SanDisk-Cruzer-Micro-USB-Flash-Drive-8GB/Product.html

It's worth the couple of quid more for probably the best designed flash stick out there.

thanks, but that doesn't actually help me.

If i've got say 700MB of data i want to put onto a stick/drive & then onto another PC, what differences will i see between the two formats?

The USB flash drive will work with any PC that has a USB slot, whereas the Memory Stick will need a PC equipped with a suitable interface.
With regard to differences that you'll "see" between the two formats...
Its digital information (1s & 0s) so you won't "see" any difference.
Anyway...back to the original post and this is a good price for 8GB.

Or...are you asking about transfer speeds? Think the wiki links cover this.
Hope this helps!

There is a huge chance the other computer won't have memory stick reader, but will definitely have usb port so you can use the usb flash stick. The memory stick is mostly for handheld electronics like cameras, while the usb stick is mostly for the type of things you are looking for - transferring stuff.

thanks to both you guys, really helped clear that up :)

The memory stick is one type of memory card. As they look more like cards than sticks, memory card is a more logical name.

What some call a pen drive, flash drive, USB drive, thumb drive, jump drive or USB stick, doesn’t look much like a stick or a thumb, doesn’t do any jumping and isn’t a drive because it has no moving parts.

Maybe we need to invent a better name. How about USB memory pod.

all in all a good cheap deal ideal for transferring files/photos etc. can this be used in a usb enabled dvd player? if so, what format does the film need to be in to play on your dvd? i have the samsung HTZ310R from Dixons that was posted on here a few months back, but im unsure how to use this feature....
