This is a very good deal. Excellent key also quite small (I bought one a month ago great little gadgets).

I got a Sandisk Cruzer Micro U3 USB Flash Drive 8GB and it's awesome. Guess it depends if you want an encrypted drive or not.

looking for a small compact flash drive that dosen't look too ugly when plugged into the PS3 but also wont snap off my keys when carried around??

Is the Play.com one made of a chrome key-chain loop?? My last one snapped (non play) and got lost :(

I have a dead one of these in the bottom of my bag. I didn't do anything bad to it, just lost all my files and now it fails to be recognised. I probably won't buy another play branded stick again.

I guess even solid state drives aren't 100% safe...

slimy31 - have you tried reformating it or wont it even be detected? sometimes the partitioning on the drives can mess up, although it's normally down to the PC and not the pen drive themselves.

Gone for the Sandisk one as it wont look too out of place in my PS3 :)

your loss....great drives these....well better than Sandisk....in fact the only quicker drives I've used are Dane Elec

Got one of these the last time a similar offer was on - it's been very useful, especially at the price. Hot!

Got two of these, bought about the same price from Amazon I think, could have been Ebuyer. One of the two. The cases are ok, a little bulkier than they need to be, can be a problem if USB slots are very close together, but a little extra push and they go in fine.

Elsewhere these are branded as Bytestor.

Speed is ok for the price, I'd recommend them and congratulate Play for listing the speeds, wish all retailers would!

Its no longer recognised, every PC it gets plugged into (I have access to about half a dozen at home and work) just says unrecognised device. And if it doesn't recognise it as a storage device I'm not given the option to format it.

It was a half decent drive, very fast and a good amount of storage, but considering its been the only flash drive failure I've had out of countless devices, I'll just hedge my bets and go for another brand. So yes, perhaps it is 'my loss', but I am quite fond of 'once bitten, twice shy'...
