I'd love one of these. Still a bit expensive for me but if they ever get reduced I'll be straight in there.

ditto.

Pretty cool but I don't think it would look that great with jeans and a t-shirt... I'd need the whole outfit to be completely happy.

i think we all will be :)

cool, but a pointless waste of cash

Would love one of these (the full kit would be better) but at 40 years old with 3 small girls I'd find it difficult to explain to my other half the rationale for the purchase unfortunatley  Good find though.

Grrr, where's the Vader one for £60?

I always find that the old jedi mind trick works in those situations

The force runs strong in her family ;-)

I would probably blow £20 on one of these but would struggle to justify more though. Hot for those who want one though!!!

As is this but I want it so much. Wouldn't want this helmet though. Especially at £60...

My dads got two of these. They arent that great to be honest. Better off just making your own with a handy cam and adobe affter effects imo

Some might deem going down the Pub or watching footy a pointless waste of cash too. Each to their own.
I would like one, but don't have the room and would need a stand for it ...hopefully it will come down in price to tempt me more. This sort of thing would be cool to display in some sort of home cinema room...along with Light Sabers etc etc :-)

I'd love one of these, but I'm a bit short.

sorry but this isnt a good deal, the price reflects the cheap quality that it is, if u want a "proper" replica u need to goto shepperton studious, this is mearly a cheap unrealistic version im afriad and is reflected in the price, its more for display then to wear.
#15
What right thinking human being wouldn't want one of these!!!

Cheers. I've spent a little while 'researching' these and am still taken by the Yoda blade. Hmmm - sad I am.

Sounds like the originals from the first films - weren't they incredibly cheaply made?

Maybe you should go for the Yoda lightsaber then as he was a bit short too!!!!!

I bought the wife one of these for Xmas and she loves it (along with her Lego AT-ST) and for the price the quality is very good.

Personally I'd recommend ignoring any SW snobs who insist that only Shepperton produce "proper" replicas - indeed they are not even licensed by Lucasfilm (www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Shepperton_Loses_Lawsuit_100707.asp) and many of Ainsworths claims about his involvement in the design process have since been questioned.

The vast majority of 501st Legion members (the peeps who dress up and troop at conventions, etc.) wear helmets similiar to this as the likes of the Shepperton helmets are far too costly and impractical for wearing for anything more than a few minutes.

To read more about this, any of the other various manufacturers helmets or helmets for different characters then this ->http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/MR_Budget_Stormy.htm is a very good site.

/nerd mode off.

Well, being a bit of a sad spod when it comes to these kind of things, they are really good! Ive got one, its not like the higher end helmets, basically your choice of stormtrooper helmets (other than fan built/home made) are as follows:

the Andrew Ainsworth Shepperton design studios version. This is the most expensive and most accurate to the real things used on film in 1977! They are really light, flimsy and cheap looking!!! But they are 100% authentically accurate!!!

Master replicas limited edition - and they are very limited, they are hardy! Made from fibreglass, built to last and feel quality! Also expensive, but accurate in terms of look and wonkiness!

Master Replicas Collectors Edition (The UK exclusive Play one!) - This is the budget version! Its still excellent in construction. Material is thicker than the Shepperton studios, but they are mass produced, symetrical (rather than how they looked in the films), and great to wear around the house! :):):)

Oh, ive obviously omitted any of the rubies or don post type helmets, but they are rubbish!

Luke managed to get all the way to the detention block before anyone questioned that he might be a little short for a storm trooper. I'm sure you could get away with it.

Does anyone know where I can get the full stormtrooper suit to go with this? Guessing it ain't going to be cheap :P. But it would look **** without the full thing! All or nothing lol

They're often sold on eBay (search for "FX Stormtrooper") but as usual with eBay you don't know if you'll get a decent set or a cheap rip off copy.

Shepperton studios sell an armour set but it is very expensive and not really suitable for trooping - unless you ban anyone from coming within 5' of you incase they scuff it:)

Places like www.rebelscum.com and www.501st.com have links to various sellers and their forums are a good place to look if you want a recommendation for someone selling good quality FX kits.

Can anyone advise if this helmet is the same one?

Item no 330205301562 on fleabay

I think I am needing one!
#31
The item he is describing is the same but as usual with eBay whether that is what he selling is another matter;-)

Cheaper to just buy one from Play

Master Replicas did make another Stormtrooper helmet known as the 'Hero Stormtrooper (ANH) Limited Edition' but they only made just over a thousand of them and I doubt you'll find one for sale in the UK - if you did it would be at least a few hundred quid.

My hubby bought this a few weeks ago, delivered this week and its huge, well worth the money if your a star wars collector. only down side is it doesnt come with a stand.
Both my husband and my 6 year old son are star wars crazy, we have a master replica stormtrooper full scale gun, full scale lightsabers, thermal detonators you name it and we have it sitting every so nicely on my welsh dresser..lol
If the stuff is from Master Replicas then its worth the money and an excellent investment, beleive me.
