Toshiba's blurb on the new high range XV Series:

LCD TV > REGZA XV Series

The innovation keeps coming with our new Regza XV Series Full HD Ready LCD television, blending superb picture and audio quality, and delivering it in our slimmest, most stylish package to date. It has an On/Off switch; sounds obvious but you can now choose to turn off your TV completely, rather than leave it on stand-by for software and channel updates.

The 1920x1080p Full HD Ready panel is driven by our acclaimed Active Vision LCD picture processing technology and creates high definition images, full of vibrant colours, rendering scenes with an almost three dimensional depth of field. Exact Scan, pixel-for-pixel image mapping ensures you see all of the picture, all of the time, without cropping the image. Extraordinary dynamic contrast ratios combine with Luma Sens technology to automatically create perfect image contrast in any room lighting.

Stunning audio performance is guaranteed with SRS WOW technology delivering and expanded audio image. With a dedicated Game Mode; three HDMI connections; a component video input; REGZA Link CEC functionality and a built-in digital tuner, the XV series really is hard to beat.

They've also got the 32XV for £550 which is the lowest preorder anywhere I think but when just £149 more gets you the full 42inchs...!!!!!

I saw this offer on there website last night and I was waiting for this to come down in price. The 42" version would be too large for my flat ,so went for the 37" version at £599 plus Quidco which brings the price down to £574 !!!!!!!! fantastic price.
The 37" version is £840 on Amazon.

Was just looking at that 37 inch. You're right, probably makes more sense. Guess I gonna continue to wait for the right deal (ie one I can afford and can't resist) to come along though... :(

Yes people see 10" bigger diagonal and probably think ONE THIRD more TV but in reality it is the rectangular screen area which matters and from 32" to 42" that is 72% more screen area for 27% more cost in your example.

Trying to talk the lovely beautiful wonderful girlfriend in to letting me buy the 37inch...! lol

Just noticed that this isn't available until 18th April

Yeah, preorder only (no one has these in stock yet as its not been released yet). Although I'm surprised at the lateness of the delivery given other suppliers are expecting stock at the end of March.

Well my recent experience of ordering large items from play would make me think twice. I ordered and they just cancelled it a week later. It took me to chase them as they have no automated system for notification when orders are cancelled. Order by all means, just don't hold your breath.

I bit the bullet and order the 37 inch myself. A no-brainer given Play are still offering the predecessor Toshiba 37X for £799 that this is a limited time only bargain.
