can i ask why someone would pay £40 for this when a freeview recorder by itself is not much more?

Whats so good about it?

All of which is done by a freeview recorder...

Maybe it's the attraction of having a very small box plugged into the PS3, rather than a 'full size' recorder?

Good luck. Called about these last week as this has been posted before - there's around 8 spread across the country, and whats left are in the middle of nowhere! :(

I picked one up last week in Toys R Us at Lakeside for the same price. They had two beat up boxes on the shelf and at first I thought they were clearing out old or box damaged stock, but turned out they were just using the boxes as tickets. The one that they gave me at the pickup counter was all shiny and new, the old box went back on the shelf.

I got one earlier this year and think its great!

You can leave PS3 in standby. New PS3 slim consumes half the power.
Also think you can watch recorded stuff remotely on PSP with internet connection.

Quite this is not just a freeview box but it turns your PS3 into a very nice PVR with an excellent interface. Also you can transfer your recordings to your PSP if you add memory

yeh, that's another thing i forgot to say before.....PVR's are at least twice the price and probably dont have freeview built in.

btw....anyone know if they will update the firmware on these play tv's so it receives freeviewHD?

also I heared sony disabled 'transfer your recordings to your PSP' cus of copywrite
