Wouldn't Sky+ be just as good?
Wouldn't Sky+ be just as good?

No, Because:
1. you have to pay subscription fees for Sky+
2. This can record programmes to the PS3 hard drive
3. Portable viewing with the PSP

and it does the main things that a Sky+ box does as well like pause, stop live tv etc, and the ability to record something while watching another channel or playing a PS3 game
I bought this a few months back for the same price, great piece of kit, have not missed match of the day since! heat added
Im on Virgin, so wont get freeview.
But would be able to record shows threw the ariel.
My area doesn't get Freeview (yet) poor ariel coverage.
Maybe good idea to BE SURE you get freeview first.
I dont think its worth the wear and tear of your PS3.
It is a good bit of kit works well. I wonder if they will ever do a freesat version?
