ah, but it saves you that if you put it towards a new gen console... you will do one day if you have any sense  - look what happened to the old xbox... says it all doesn't it.

plus the 60 gb ps3 is rubbish for bc some the games look horrid. I should know I've got 1.

But good deal, comparing to somewhere like gamestation with sell a 2nd hand 1 for 49.99

Because there's no such thing as a fully BC PS3.

Voted hot - excellent price for a still very good games console. Add the fact that many of the accessories (SingStar, Guitar Hero, Buzz etc) are priced well, you've got yourself a very good 'party' console :)

Will drop in tonight and see if the Derby store has any.

or you could get a wii, but if you're poor, yeah this is good.

Great deal!

Well my PS2 died last month after 5 years, i can't afford a PS3 and have heaps of PS2 games, so this deal couldn't have come at a better time!

You mean if you want to forego a massive software library for one which has hardly any quality games for it!

For novelty, the Wii is brillint. For sheer gameplay and huge available library with some of the best games ever made released on it, the PS2 wins every time. I wonder if this is the start of Sony's wind down of the PS2, seeing they have a 10 year life-cycle - this should still be supported for another 3 years.

The backwards compatibility on the PS3 in regards to PS2 games is horrible, even after several software updates.
#17
Good price, if you're not one of the 100,000,000+ that already have one!!
#18
Not that great of a deal, I bought a PS2 Slimline for £50 from ASDA about 15 months ago. But it's a good deal if you haven't got one.
#19
I can't believe I ordered a pre-owned one from game this very morning at 7 :? ! for the exact same price I could have bought a brand new one!

and today of all days game decide to be efficient and have dispatched it already!

oh well lets hope it works

Great spot, missed out last time Toy R Us were doing a PS2 bundle offer for £49.99.

Called this morning and my local store were selling them at £104.00! Made them aware of the offer online (they initially said the online store was a different company!!) and picked one up at lunchtime.

I also noticed that the Monsters game plus 4 Buzz Buzzers pack was £34.99!! For £49.99 this is a great deal. The guy that handed the boxed deal over to me also said that it was very cheap!!

Anyone know of anybody selling The Big Quiz at a good price?

wow that's one of stupidest things ive read on here. What exactly did happen to the old XBox, in your opinion? Right now its one of the best multimedia centres available once you XBMC mod it. The PS2 for 50 quid will sell out in minutes, hot deal
#24
I went down the the ilford store tonight and they wouldn't let me have one until tomorrow,. :-(
#25
I missed the last bundle too because It was a week until payday. they went out of stock the night before! Boo hoo! I bought a second hand one instead....not quite the same thing. Tatty and well used but it did the job. I saw this post first thing and I managed to get one this time yeah!! Thanks to the poster, my son says thanks too.

Ordered one earlier then found this thread.

Does anyone know where i can get a ps2 memory card cheap? This isn't for me, i've got an older silver ps2 that's still going strong, but getting this for my g/f's sister and don't want to pay £15 for a memory card!
#27
I got my pre-owned console from GAME this morning - I am so angry I cannot believe it. The condition of the console is appalling!

It angers me to think that I've paid the same money for a used console as I could have for a brand new one. I have emailed GAME to see what they have to say for themselves.

Might still have to go and pick up one of these tomorrow from toys r us, hopefully I can return the hideous pile of junk that has just arrived in my house!

Good deal. Especially for a kids bedroom etc. The slim PS2 is a great piece of hardware, barely the size of 2 dvd cases ontop of eachother, and runs cool and stable to boot.

Wonder if they will ever get the PS3 down to a similar size?

But what if you still want to play your PS2 games? The PS2 also has a huge, cheap library of games and is still getting plenty of new releases so isn't going anywhere, unlike the original xbox.

Is this forwards compatible with PS3 games?

Great price, hot from me.
#31
does anyone know if this is a long term price? thanks
#32
says it is out of stock :(
#33
Compared to a £10 Xbox this seems poor value to me...?
#34
Just called, they said the deal ends tomorrow, bank holiday monday.

Meaning i can't get one. I officially hate Toys R Us and everyone who got one.

well considering the fact they still make ps2 games and there is a much better back catalouge i'd say this is well worth the price :)

And the PS2 is new whereas the xbox will be pre-owned - and its a fraction of the size.
