Sounds too good to be true but will definitely pick one up tomorrow if it is at this price.

It was at the front. As soon as you enter. It's in a box red promo box

Thanks for the heads up!

is there any better deal than this (with some games) (doesn't matter if there is lower memory, about 80-120GB)?
#9
Any idea if this is nationwide or store specific??
#10
I think it will be in that 1 store only and most likely a price error or someone mistaked a 9 or 8 for a 4. I hope its this price though as its not a bad price for a media center if thats what your looking for.

Cheaper than this you mad ? Unless you check ebay you might get a fatty for just over £100 most likely a ylod fix though. 320gb are still worth £200 + i haven't seen it for under £230 since feb (320gb) £199.99 (160gb) seem to be the sort of price range when on offer. Got to sell my 320gb soon as its gathering dust as i never play it and would rather use the 360 for gaming if/when i play a console. If ps3 ever gets cross game chat like party chat then it will be a winner ! As long as they don't add it to "psn plus" which seems one big con anyway. Untill that happens the 360 will be a clear winner as i just don't get why psn doesn't have it. Unless they can't because microsoft have the rights to the idea X)mmmmmmm

Cracking price btw if anyone can pick one up !

It was not a price error. It had empty boxes with a red band around the box with the price. I don't think it's store specific because the price was printed on the box. It was not on the a ticket. I may be wrong
#14
Website price is £249.99, so that's £100 off! Surely not?

The Xbox is definitely £159.99 though....saw it myself instore a few days ago.

Must have a look for the PS3 in the morning.

It's not a bad price for a games console either, which is what it is after all.

Incidentally, entertainment prices are never store-specific.

A few stores may still have 120GB Slim units lying around, but they're few and far between. The 80GB is long gone, seeing as they went out of production in mid-2009.

Yawn! PS+ is great and I hope they do add more features for PS+ only. If that means cross chat then so be it.

Best to just ring them. They offer their local store number on their website unlike Tesco who make you pay expensive non geographic numbers - every little helps indeed...

Next-gen ain't coming unless you want to get into PC gaming.
Red Dead was my final salute to the Xbox I purchased in 2005.

Define 'next-gen' though I think he is confused with the Wii 2. Don't think Microsoft will bother doing a new console until at least 2014.

I don't think motion controllers are the answer to extend this generation. I reckon Nintendo will release in the autumn, Microsoft mid-late 2012 and Sony will crap themselves.

i am having trouble believing this, called sainsburys staff and they say it is at 194.99. the guy goes that it has special offer price saying 194.99 on it and OP posted that it had a sticker on it saying 149.99. doesnt add up.

149.99 and 194.99 could just be a visual thing with digits 2 and 3 mixed either in the head or on the sticker.
either way bargain crazy had a few 120gb+4games for 180 odd and just console for 150odd http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ps3-slim-120gb-with-4-games-batman-arkham-asylum-ufc-saints-row-2-assassins-cree/942180

Project Cafe isn't next generation its Nintendo's entry into the current generation of consoles. While it may be a little bit better than 360/PS3 its not a generation leap going by the leaked specification. Its claimed it only has 8GB of flash memory for storage no hard drive and uses 25GB capacity optical discs. All PS3's currently allow upto 50GB dual layer bluray discs and future firmwares could allow upto quad layer 100GB blurays plus all PS3's have hard drive storage beyond 8GB. The GPU/CPU will be similar but slightly faster to those used in the 360 but even this isn't certain. Nintendo cost reduce their consoles as much as possible.

The first next gen console will be the new Xbox and that is a few years away yet.

Got one for £194.99 last week. Better not be £149.99 now!

MS haven't even announced anything yet, so there's absolutely no chance they could or would release a new console next year.

actually PC gaming is by and large controlled by the console market now

PC grpahics are just console games with higher resolution here, more AA there, PC's hardware isnt even closed to being utilised as developers wont risk the investment in advanced tech for such little return,

True next gen graphics on PC wont happen until the next gen console come out

MS haven't even announced anything yet, so there's absolutely no chance they could or would release a new console next year.

Shadow, i think the combination of leaked vacancies (for MS graphic/CPU architects) & constant rumours of some of the big hitters (EA/Ubisoft) already starting to work on next-gen PC rigs imply that we could see a new MS console as early as 2013..... In fact there's rumour going around that MS might try to steal some of Nintendo's thunder at E3 '11 by announcing (if not the console, then) it's project name. They wouldn't be stupid/brave enough to directly go up against Project Cafe (Wii2, whatever it gets called) when it launches next year, it doesn't make business sense. So my money is on Sep-Dec 2013 for MS' next console, followed by Sony in 2014/15.

back on topic, the price must have been misread or misprinted orginally, as it seems that it's scanning at £194.99 (and not £149.99)
