STICK WITH THE ZX81

Stick to...blutac!

Blimey, if you have still got half those computers and consoles I reckon you could ebay them and buy yourself a stonking PC.
Great find, I have a wii which has got me back into my hobby, and introduced my girls to video games and means my wife will be fighting a losing battle when I suggest a certain family present for christmas!
Still trying to decide between 360 (currently best games catalogue) and PS3 with upscaling and blu ray and forthcoming titles this could be the one..already have hidef tv so upscaling saves me buying a seperate upscaling dvd player.....oh, I don't know just what to do!!

nice posts, but need to give some respect to OP for the time he spend to post this bargain.

Anyways hoted hot, nice price for a Bluray player (i consider in that way - no Spiderman III HD DVD )

This is the version that doesnt play ps2 games. Until the version that does is around the same price, im out. Ill stick with my Wii and 360

I'm happy with the ZX 80 but a good find and voted HOT.

Just for the record, these PS3 40GB versions are extremely quiet!

I have one and have had a 60gb version. This 40gb version stays extremely quiet even after playing games for a few hours. the 60gb was noisy in comparison.

It is basically as loud as a consumer dvd-player is, e.g not very!

Would be nice if you could say the same about the xbox360!

If you are looking for a very cheap and high quality High-def film player then this is also ideal.

You can also play all your xvid films etc from your pc with the help of Tversity ( rumour is the 2.0 firmware update will have native XVID support)

I've just upgraded the hard disk from 40gb to 250gb for £96, ready for when playTV is released ( DVB twin tuner pvr addon)

The 40gb must run like it's not even there at all, cos my PS3 is silent and you cant hear it AT ALL as it is....

exactly, 360's have a 1/3 failure rate.... and a 1 month wait (at least) until they're repaired and you're sent it back. Just google: 'red ring of death' and see what the 360 problem is all about

If you are looking for a very cheap and high quality High-def film player then this is also ideal.

This blu ray player is the best on the market. Worth £500 alone, this makes this deal amazing

PS3 is going to win just like the PS2 did, just give it time people. Order now!

P.S

i dont work for Sony......... (on weekends........ haha jus kiddin)

You want to pick up one of 60GB versions still kicking about before they are gone (as is now discontinued)
Virgin are doing them for £350 with 2 games and 2 blue rays, (admitently they are launch titles, but motocross and fall of man are class titles and eaisilly worth £30 each. Bluerays are again ok, probably worth £10 each.

Making the better system effectively cost £270. (or £235 if you have a virgin credit card to get 10% off the package.

PS. i have my PS3 sat beside my 360 and the 360 sounds like an aircraft carrier in comparrion to the PS3

Far too expensive!

And besides PS3's don't give you grief when you go out with your mates...

I got the £350 Blockbuster deal on 60GB but this is spot on. By the time you buy a game for it it's probably about the same price as the £299 deals they have for 40GB+1game. Good find nonetheless

Great price for an excellent machine, Blu Ray playback on my HDTV is stunning.. and so is Warhawk! :)
#19
Showing as £299.99 now ?

Good deal op, even though ive just recently purchased a 360 im tempted (I like the 360 Noise and all :-D cheap games)
Only thing thats stopping me from going for this is the lack of backward compatibility with PS2 games, but when I got my PS2 I thought the backward compatibility would be great with PS1 games, but if truth be told I never used it with PS1 games....should I treat myself (again) so close to Christmas?

If I plug in the 5.1 sound and crank it up I wont hear the earbashing....Cheers OP im going for it :whistling:

Voted hot, glad I offed my 60GB PS3 when I did! Hope the 40GB stay around this price or lower when MGS4 finally comes out, which is when I'll be interested in a PS3 again.

Looks like i'm going to be pretty content with my 360 for the rest of this year at the very least anyway (Mass Effect/Eternal Sonata/Assasins Creed/CoD 4/Ace Combat 6).
#27
Voted hot and a good deal if you want the console only and want to pick your own games etc, but have to say for £34 more the virgin deal of a PS3 60Gb two PS3 Games and an extra controller, balances better for me!
#28
Can you provide a link for that Virgin PS3 offer?

Bit strange on the Virgin Megastore site the 40GB PS3 is almost £100 more then the 60GB. Can't be right?
