Woolworths are about to go bust so you won't be able to take it back to the shops if anything is wrong with it.

What a load of twaddle!!!

The country is about to go bust, more like!!

Sony cover no?
#13
They should cover it yea as long as you have your proof of purchase.

I think Woolies is going bust though, they were trying to sell there 800 stores for £1 the other day I think.

Bargain price, hope they fall in price so more people will buy them.

Woolworths in Wellington, Somerset.

The PS3 with LBP bundle is £289, less 10% brought it down to £260.
#15
I should also add that although they advertise the LBP pack as one item, (as seen in Currys etc...) I actually got a standard 80 Gig PS3 and the game completely seperately.
#16
Better getting this though and buying LBP from play for £30 and you get the Nariko code plus save yourself £5. :D

Why was this 800 stores for £1 not on the front page?! HOT HOT HOT. Just think, you could sell them on ebay for a profit.
#19
not a bad price but have just ordered the Amazon deal that had LBP, RESISTANCE 2, FAR CRY 2 and the (cough) £17 hdmi cable for £299.99. as I don't really want a console without any games........

Yep £1 as long as you take on their £300 milion debt not so hot deal. Rumours are tha they will go bust next week so be careful with expensive purchases

Is the warranty with Sony?

Cos i don't fancy Woolie' chances of being a company in 6 months time looking at their performance in the sotck market lately.

Just read the above thread. Disregard.
#24
Woolies secured the deal with some American company, so they will be around another 2 years. Bought console today.

P.S. Do not forget to print voucher from here, due to not all Woolies stores are giving away vouchers on the front door.

Some people are just STUPID!!

It doesn't even matter if woollies goes bust as the warranty is with Sony, who aren't going bust!
#26
Or buy it on a CREDIT card and you can claim against your CC company (Joint and several liability for the purchase);)

Visa Debit is good too for purchases greater than £100.
#27
ive sent y ps3 back they come pick it up and exchange for a new one good customer service

Whats the difference between an 80gb ps3 and a 160gb ps3? Do both have Wi-Fi connectivity?

Cheers

Even if Woolies keeps going for the next year, their returns policy is a joke.

Bought a 360, got a RROD immediately after turning on, went back to Woolies the same day, they refused to replace or refund, and told me I had to deal with Microsoft (I eventually did). Even the manager wouldn't budge. I should have made more of a fuss, there are lots of reports on the web regarding similar situations.

So yeah, Sony would probably be the only choice for warranty anyway, unless you want to go through the hassle of dealing with Woolies.

One of many examples:

Good riddance I say

Only difference is the size of the hard drive.

The saving is £75 so you could buy a bigger hdd and install yourself! :)

Woolworths in Metro centre (gateshead) had the PS3 GT3 pack for £250 so less 10% = £225
#33
Anyone know if any of these deals are in the dundee stores?

HMV tried that with me when I rang them up. I just brought it to the store and said I wanted a new one to the person who looked the newest. Worked a treat

I paid this a year ago for our PS3 from Argos with two free games.
#36
stock has been replaced with 80gb version my store had 1 40gb left went today - stores will be hit and miss
#37
Warrants
but you have to pay £30-40 to go online plus another £40-60 to buy a wireless adapter. PS3 is all out of the box except a £5 HDMI cable

voted hot

You don't need a wireless adaptor, unless you add a screen and make it portable :?
Flat ethernet cable is available for those who are really struggling to get their TV rooms wired up correctly.

What a load of tripe, most people don't have their gaming consoles sitting beside their router so it is a lot easier to connect from anywhere in the house via wifi instead of going to the bother of running cables all through every room in the house that they will be gaming.

Way of topic as every PS3 deal seems to go.

Great deal BTW voting HOT :-D

We ditched wi/fi to have our PS3 networked by homeplug/powerline which produces far more reliable speeds and a more stable connection and overall is far superior to wi/fi.

Guys, is this not a better deal http://hotukdeals.com/item/277837/. For £272 (quidco is tracking at £12 for this deal) you get a 80gb console + 2 games + 1 movie + blu ray remote. Also, I think 80gb console comes with dual shock 3 controller which itself normally costs £30.
