In this bundle from Game you get Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Everybody's Golf World Tour.

I know you can get a PS3 bundle with GT5:P and Uncharted for £299, this offer gives you two popular newly released titles for £50 - £25 each which as far as I'm aware is cheaper than anywhere else for those games alone.

Seems like a decent price to start your very own ps3 catalogue with 4 good games...

IGN UK Rating: 8.9

Whereas -
GT5:P scored IGN UK Rating of 8.1,
RSV2 scored IGN UK Rating of 8.2,
U:DF - scored IGN UK Rating of 8.1.

And I think it's safe to say IGN is deemed as a trusted gamer review site.

If this is the same everybodys golf that I play in Japan (minna no golf) then it is an excellent game.
I have a PSP version for train journeys and older versions on other consoles.
In fact, it is probably the best game in the set. However, buying from Game is evil and must not be done.

Does anyone know when they're going to be bringing out proper PS3s again? I'd have thought they'd have brought out 80gb or more PS2 compatible ones by now.

I'm getting deja vu.

Does anyone know if they're going to be bringing out a decent sized hard drive PS3 that is backwards compatible any time soon? 40gb is pathetic, and there's no way I'm upgrading unless I can play all my old games on it.

i think its a pretty good deal

Upgrading the hard drive is both simple and cheap.
As for playing ps2 games on it, thats always makes me laugh? why would you want to?

1. So I can flog the PS2, and put £35 or so towards the price of the PS3.
2. So I don't have to have two of them connected up and taking up space.
3. So I can use wireless controllers

And upgrading the hard drive means more money being spent.
If the 40gb one was £299 ish, I'd have thought they'd have brought a PS2 compatible 80gb or more one out for £350 by now. Which means I can flog the PS2, get the above benefits, and the extra hard disk space for £15 or so more.
I can't really blag it to the missus as a media player "you can see all the videos of the kids through it love...isn't it good?" with just 40gb worth of space on it.

I don't rate IGN after their Pro-Evo fiasco. But yes, Everybody's Golf "Werld Touwer!" is an amazingly adictive game!

You don't really need space when you've got Tversity streaming all that stuff.

Same reason people want to play DVD's on HDDVD and BluRay players.

Also why wouldn't you? There are some cracking games on PS2, something currently lacking on PS3, and one PS under the TV is better than two, particularly if you have other things to squeeze in.

I, like ourdave, would love a PS3. But without backwards compatibility and a much bigger harddrive it doesn't offer nearly enough as it stands to warrant a purchase.

They did .. it's the 60gb model. Go to Game and buy one for £350 (inc 2 new games). It'll be second hand but still come with 12 months warranty.

Problem solved and you can then calm down. :whistling:

Thanks for the info - no idea why I need to calm down though.

oooooh, Product temporarily removed from sale.

Personally I have no interest in playing PS2 games on my PS3 so wasn't that bothered about the lack of BC - just traded in my PS2 plus all my PS2 games and made a huge dent in the purchase price. But everyone's different I guess.

I think that Sony are deliberately keeping BC out of certain markets so as to encourage the purchase of brand new PS3 games (and so money for them), rather than pre-owned PS2 games which they get no money for.
