First post, so please be nice :)

I noticed this deal when ringing up my local GAME on how much they were going to be doing the
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue bundle for which comes out this Friday. The guy told me on the phone that they have three bundles which will start tomorrow. These are;

PlayStation 3 40GB with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and FREE Rainbow Six Vegas 2

PlayStation 3 40GB with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and FREE Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga

PlayStation 3 40GB with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and FREE Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

I checked later this evening on their site and it was indeed correct.

This is quite a good deal considering you get 2 games for under £300.

Don't forget 3% Quidco with buying online with hardware.

Seems a bit expensive unless you specifically looking for a Blu-Ray player. If you want a games console and don't care about the PS3 exclusives the Wii or Xbox 360 would be better value.

...ducks and runs for cover...

Shame you are only getting one game and a demo, not that fantastic.
#6
Excellent price, my preorder got GT5:P has been delayed by play :(
#7
GT5 Prologue is not a demo but a smaller version of the full GT5, but more than big enough to be called a game.

not really when most xboxes are bricking it left right and centre, and you gota wait 2 weeks to get it back

Great deal/

whats GT5 prologue exactly? i know it's not a demo, but it's also not the full game.

I would wait for the GTA4 pack :) and seeing how the xbox360 price cut has boosted its sales significantly probably expect the ps3 to do another price cut soon. what you reckon?
#11
I'm hoping they will release a GTA4 pack, I have been waiting for PS3's to fall in price and have also been looking forward to this game's release for a long time. A bundle offer would suit me just fine.

And of course we all know that the PS3 has Blu Ray read errors on many systems but most people don't exadurate it out of all proportion like you just have when it comes to the 360, have they fixed all those PS2 errors it had since it's launch ? oh yes they must of as the PS2 is now the worlds best selling console.

Back to the deal -
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is just under £20 and is nothing more than a demo, it would be a free download on any other console. And that really makes this the normal price for this console with a game.

Get Project Gotham 4 or the amazing Forza 2 on the 360 (or at least take a look to see just how good they are)they are now cheaper, better and the full games.

Mmmm, you sound slightly biased towards the 360 perhaps?

I somehow doubt that a 6 track, 71 car, 16 player online game would be released as a free download on xbox live marketplace, or Nintendo's equivalent.

Xbox live marketplace charges high prices in my opinion for lots of things, such as Ghost Recon 2's extra map packs, old 'classic' games such Speedball etc, and renting films at the sort of prices you can buy them for.

I'd say £17.99 represents pretty good value for GT5 Prologue.

My 'launch day' console packed in late last night - It's amazing how fast you start looking at PS3s
If it wasn't just a Prologue I don't think I could resist getting the credit card out.

So glad the 360 has a 3 year warranty, I just hope it's back in time for GTA

im sorry but please dont try and BS, the fail rate of the 360 is quite considerably more than that of the PS3, not bais, just pure fact.

In store price too, for the record :)

And GT5:P is £24.99 on the online marketplace, so it's not really a free download.......... lol to Bill Gates' fanboys

True. If Microsoft hadn't extended the one year warranty to three years and redesigned the 'box it'd be a no no but as they did both and given the incredibly cheap price and huge number of great games (check www.metacritic.com/games) its not difficult to choose Xbox 360 over PS3 as a games console.
Unless that is you want a Blu-Ray player or one of the PS3 exclusives of course...

And before I get flamed, this is just my opinion (altho the warranty/redesign/greater number of great games according to Metacritic bits are fact)

Which is exactly what you get with this deal, a blu ray player, and two exclusive games.:lazy:

gran turismo 5 prologue is a demo of the full version which they have released to get money for the whole version. Its got like 30 odd cars but only like 6 races. But good deal tho

This is expired now.

Shame, the PS3 bundles seem to getting worse day by day.
