Or instead of an extra controller you can get 2 (selected) Blu Ray Movies

Edit: I doubt this will be available online. Have you seen there PS3 hardware bit? Also, unlikely a student will get 10% off as they changed that rule 2 weeks ago, however Virgin Credit Card holders will definitely get 10% off.

Im gonna get this tomorrow and expect to pay £315, not £296, although that would be nice!

I noted that as well in my thread, hopefully will work as that will be a great price.

FORGOT to mention there is a fourth deal..... but it is the one that has been currently available till close of play today.. so dont buy....sleep on it and get a bargain in the morning.........or better still sleep with a student or someone with a virgin card (if you dont have one yourself) then cook them a lovely EARLY breakfast, then drag them down to the nearest virgin megastore :giggle: :giggle: .

What an excellent xmas present :santa: at a TRUE price

Just seen one of the other threads:-

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1050878

Which is the one for a PS3 60Gb FIFA 08 and 2 other games for £350 ish, then did an extra calculation if get the deal above then buy FIFA 08 which is £45 therefore you will get PS3 extra controller and 2 PS3 games from list and the FIFA 08 for £350, so in reality getting the extra controller for the same price. Thats if the discount errors still work in all our favours.

Heads up to all trying to save HDUK'ers loads of money on all deals including the PS3 deal, as thats how i got mine so cheap a while back

#11
How do you get the 10% off with the virgin card?
I have a virgin card and ordered the 360 controller and game for £35 and I paid, £35 with my virgin card, I couldn't see any way to get the 10% off.

Thanks

I'm in the same situation, I don't know which games to get as none of them really appeal to me. I might just get Heavenly Sword because it looks quite good but none of the others are game that I'd really like. So I'm not sure what to do, I might just get Resistance, but I'm not too good at shooters.

When you buy items in store and pay with virgin card staff should give you 10% discount, if dont remind them politely, as they have a lot of pressure on seeing as Richard (Brandson) has just sold it off so concerns about Job Security:roll:
#14
This is an offline deal only. So need to go to store to buy.:giggle:
#15
thank you :)
#16
MotorStorm + Heavenly Sword.

HS is short, and recently released. You could trade it for a number of titles not on that list because of this.
MotorStorm is just awesome.
#17
Top 3 games -

1) Resistance
2) Heavenly Sword
3) Motorstorm

Though thats just my opinion.
#18
I have been instructed by a friend :friends: to get the deal in the morning so hope to post the exact price by about 9.30am, but if anyone else finds out sooner the feel free to add some comments and i will do my best to add to original part of deal for all to see!

i'm a student, so if you fit, female and looking for a discount on your PS3 .... :)

nice work OP

Awesome I hope the deal still stands when I go up to my local Virgin Megastores over the weekend. Getting Heavenly Sword, Resistance: Fall Of Man, an extra controller and a 60 GB Playstation 3 for £297 would be amazing, but at £315 it's still an excellent price. I just hope they will still let me get that discount.
#21
By student does it mean that you have to be in university and have that university card?
#22
Sorry to dash people's hopes but at the end of August, Virgin changed their student discount policy to exclude consoles/bundles. The Virgin credit card still gives 10% off though.

Cool I hope you are right on that though because I have a Virgin Credit Card, but not a Student discount card. Regardless I will phone my local Virgin Megastores tomorrow and find out for sure if I can get 10% off.
#24
Well I bought my PS3 at Virgin last month (I know :-() and was informed the new student discount didn't apply to consoles but I managed to get 10% off at the manager's discretion as I told her I was waiting to recieve my Virgin credit card and I'd come back once it had arrived.

Also, the Virgin money website still states the credit card gives 10% off consoles (you would've expected them to change it if it no longer applies because of the takeover):

Very true, i have already tried, a flat No No!
#26
10% discount is not working online at the moment - see here - it says
"We're doing some maintenance work on the site at the moment, so unfortunately we can't currently offer 10% off for Virgin Money customers. Please check back in a few days!"
#27
Hi all

Sorry did not realise that you could not get 10% off with the student card for console deals, will edit the original post if it will allow me, or if a mod could assist.

But inportant for those of you out on the pull .....URGENT UPDATE...make sure the one your going for has a virgin credit card, as this is the only way this will work, I am sure it no excuse for having some "cuddles" 2nite, but if you want a result in the morning, pick the right one!!

Seriously, if you having fun, be safe, pharmacies do sell EHC, but well dealing with an STD might make the PS3 leave a sour reminder!!:giggle:
#28
oh man...gutted....i was just telling my mrs that we going shopping tomorrow (she has the student card)...now im gonna cancel our shopping trip tomorrow
#29
At least you saved yourself a fruitless trek to the shops ;-)
#30
For those without student card, could apply instore for a virgin card and sweet talk the staff into giving 10%, stores like Burton and Top Shop to name a few, the cashiers offer you 10% if you apply for a their card for the purchase you make on that day, iam sure that virgin could be persuaded the same.

Well I cant see the deals getting much sweeter before Xmas as we are now in the last 3 months of the year and they (the shops) are now heavily targeting the Xmas shopper :santa: , so dont miss out and have to pay someone on fleebay a premium for something you can get for a bargain.
#31
I think you can only apply for the credit card online (like I did) but don't quote me on that!
#32
You think if you said you were waiting for the card to come through you could get the 10%? Good deal!
#33
Possibly, if the manager is sympathetic...not sure if they'll be as desperate for the business as when I got mine to be honest because they know there will be an increase in demand for the consoles now due to the price cuts.

No harm in trying though
#34
can some one explain, if i apply for the virgin cc can i do it instore (so i can get the discount straight away) or have to wait until the card get sent (deal will prob be ova) and is the best deal out there.

Thanks
#35
also what is the interest free period

:edit scrap that 50 days it is
#36
This is one mighty tempting deal guys, but you have to remember two very crucial things.
There is a severe lack of A+/Exclusive titles to play and one even bigger factor: DualShock3 (Controller with Rumble) will be out before you know it!
#37
A good deal...

I would recommend to everyone who goes for this a must have Resistance: Fall of Man. An excellent single player and really good multiplayer especially if you play to reach the medal targets & up your ranks.

[Note: I am zabbyh on PSN]

Also if you want another game that you could pick up and play again and again then I would go for motorstorm, it has multiplayer online and is a good game with friends.

I would be inclined to get heavenly sword but remember its only 7 hours long so you could probably rent it instead. That leaves the only other game that is decent which is Ridge Racer which is great and you could just enjoy the demo that you can download from PSN.

I have to say the titles are getting better and well the competition is really heating up so the manufacturers will be doing the best to get the consoles sold so not only the good prices, but better titles. I personally am happy with the title so far and well the blue ray player on a 1080p is amazing, aldo be able to upscale DVD and use it as a PC terminal with a Wireless keyboard has so many benefits, I could justify the RRP, IMHO.
#39
So, if you can't get this disount and you can't get that disount then maybe just get if for £349 from Woolies with 5% Quidco. ;-)
#40
damn il phone virgin and ask can i get 10% off!
