6 usb ports?

Who actually plays PS2 Games on their PS3? PS3 Games are as little as a fiver these days. Its like when the PS2 came out we all thought it was great that it played PS1 games but no one I know ever did.

Ive got this version by the way, but it was not to use the super dooper Backwards compatability! £270 is a crazy and stupid price to pay for this. So well cold from me!

I have seen these sell for Stupid money new and sealed on ebay £300 plus...

I use the PS2 compatibility actually. I never did before uni, if I really wanted to play games I had a PS2 anyway, but now with a HD monitor and not a tele I can't plug a PS2 into it without spending about £60, and I do like to play SSX Tricky/3, Timesplitters 2/3, Burnout 3 and Final Fantasy X still. I still play the PS1 Final Fantasy's as well on PS2/3. There are some games that just aren't on PS3 (SSX, Timesplitters) or times you want the older versions (Burnout 3 for multiplayer).

I had my 60GB nicked a couple of months ago, was gutted. I was one of the few who still used it to play PS1 and PS2 games. Castlevania, Final Fantasy's, all that. Have just recieved the insurance, but it's Comet only. They have a good slim deal on at the minute, but I want a big fat, shiney 60GB, the PS3 slim looks so cheap.

On my 60Gb console (with 4 USB ports) I see play "Black", "Urban Reign", & "Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt".

My kids still play the Sly Cooper series, Ratchet & Clank franchise games, & Ape Escape titles.

If this "Brand New" PS3 comes with a 12 month warranty that will replace like for like in the event of failure it isn't such a bad deal.

However, two things worry me about the listing on the retailer's site.

What's in the box

1 x PlayStation 3
1 x User's Manual
1 x PS3 Controller (Wireless)
1 x AV Cable

...No SIXAXIS USB charging cable.

This product was added to our catalog on Monday 23 May, 2005.

The PS3 was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference on 16 May 2005 (the same year Nintendo announced the "Revolution" [now called the "Wii" console] & the Game Boy Micro [now called the "Game Boy Micro"]).

I suspect this listing has been on this web site since & no stock is actually available (now).

If only that were true...

I think its a scam. I heard that loads of chinese and nigerian fraudsters are upto no good with sites like these. Where are they going to get brand new 60GB machine froms when they stopped making them back in 2007?

Taken from an article at GameSpot.com (16 May 2005):

...Out of the box, the PS3 will have the capability to support seven Bluetooth controllers, which can be used for nearly 24 hours before they require charging. Later, pictures of the controllers themselves were released, showing their almost boomerang-like shape. It will also have six USB slots for peripherals: four up front and two in the back. As rumored, it will also have Wi-Fi connectivity to the PSP, which can be used as a remote screen and/or controller...

think I'd rather have a 250gb (£200) and use the £65 for a PS2

uses 70% less electric

got rid of my 60gb as it warmed the room up so much. It was using an amazing amount of electricity, even when just playing an AVI!

it says wifi connectivity with the psp.......

cant the new playstations do this?

Can anybody tell me if i can play a game on my psp against somebody playing the same game on the ps3? eg if we both had pro evolution soccer on the psp and the ps3.....could we play against each other?

No its not quite as good as that yet.

Think of the PSP as a big remote control for the PS3.
