I'm just hoping these are mostly unused customer returns rather than repaired versions but thats a bit optimistic lol. Still, if they play like new ones, £22 is the cheapest price for an official controller, refurbished or not.

Does anyone know why PS3 controllers cost more than Xbox ones? I've got an Xbox with a couple of contollers already. Bought a PS3 recently but can't seem to find a PS3 controller for the same price as I paid for my Xbox ones.

Could be that Microsoft allowed a smaller RRP or let retailers get away with selling so low while Sony keep to a premium pricing strategy or reccommendation. Just a thought though.

They think that if they stick the word "Sony" on something they can charge whatever they want for it

Could be a thought that the battery makes it a bit more expensive. Though I prefer the Xbox controller anyway with the batteries.

well its the same reason why the console itself is more expensive it just has more features, the ps3 controller has a non-removable rechargeable battery which you can plug and play with, whereas the Xbox controller requires a separate plug and play purchase to be made. Plus the ps3 controller has sixasis motion tech...

Thats bs mate, whether you agree or not charging £35 for a control for a system that came out 6 years ago is absurd. They cost at most £5-7 to manufacture if that.

It is ridiculous how expensive the PS3 controllers are. Let's face it, they're basically the same as the PS2 controller with a bit of new technology inside and they want £35, shameful really, seeing as you can pick up brand new Xbox controllers for £17.

    £22 refurbished!!!

I imported a brand new genuine Dualshock 3 from Hong Kong (from there version of Amazon.com) before they were even released in the UK/USA & although it took 3 weeks to arrive it only cost me £26 including shipping. That was like 4-5 years ago!

It's expensive because of the technology used. The Dualshock 3 controller uses Sixaxis technology, Bluetooth, allowing upto 8 controllers to be connect simultaneously, as opposed to the Xbox's 4, and also has a built in battery.

There is a reason why it is more expensive than the Xbox controller.

8 is a bit excessive and unnecessary and how many games actually use the Six-axis thing?
