The PS3 is on sale at £425 at Virgin Megastores online.

I know some people have posted deals for £399, but if you have a Virgin Credit Card, you can get 10% off all purchases, bringing the price down to £382.50. See http://uk.virginmoney.com/whatshot/popups/megastores.html.

If you go via quidco, you get an extra 5.5% off the basket value, bringing it down to £361.46.

May be useful for some people. May be worth applying for a Virgin Credit Card just to get the discount?

Sorry, it's just 3.5% via quidco, meaning final price of £367.62 ish.

Good tip! Voted hot.

My quidco tracked at the reduced 3.5% rate when I used the discount code so only £14.88 further off

Ah, I guess the Virgin Credit Card 10% off counts as a "discount" so tracks at 3.5%. Sorry guys.

Apply for a Virgin Credit Card and you also get a free £20 online voucher as well. You can't use this against the purchase of the console but you could use it later to go towards a game / extra controller etc.

still with only 3.5% off it brings it down to £367.62, which is still pretty good. voted hot, of course! thanks Jeff. :)

Interesting, people are voting cold. Is there a better deal? If so, let me know as I am looking for the best price - I want one of these bad boys!

can you use this and then a student card? effectively getting 20%??

no, you can only use one type of discount, like the Virgin card discout or the student discount. a real shame they wont do the discount together. would have been a good saving.

I tried the 20% off instore with the student and credit card but they would not do it...can you do this online? Looking to purchase one at the weekend and looking for the best deal around.:)

Are veigin megastore still doing student discount. and will they discount bundles or just the console.
#11
voted hot, its a 'good' price lol.

This is going to seem like a very strange question. I have a Virgin Card, can I just show them the card to get the discount or do I have to buy it on the Card?
#13
colin, you have to buy it on the card. and i believe they will discount it on the spot in store, rather than being discounted on your credit card statement.

i might be wrong. that's just from what i read on the virgin website.

They are probably thinking about this place, Ill post it as a deal but I think it may have been posted already??

www.greatuniversal.com

They have lots of PS3 bundles that are quite expensive, for example a Ps3 with one game is 519!!! but they offer 20% off an item for being a first time customer: -

http://www.greatuniversal.com/AgNet/... =0&prod_id=0

They also offer 10% cash back on everything spent over £150

http://www.greatuniversal.com/AgNet/...id=0&prod_id=0

and you can get 6% cash back using quidco

http://www.quidco.com/great-universal-essentials/

Taking that into account, this should come to a maximum of £365.36 with F1. Much more reasonable I think.....

Other packages seem to be available, for example a Sony PS3 60Gb Version + Resistance Fall Of Man +Call Of Duty 3 + Extra Wireless Controller + Blu-Ray Remote for 649, after savings should be £453

You can even pay in installments if you like, although I dont know what that does to all the quidco stuff etc....
