why on earth do people vote this cold? seems like an ok price to me! Just because you dont want one/dont like the fact it is so expensive, to me is not a reason to vote it cold!
#2
i agree! i just want to make people aware that they can get one if they act quickly! the same people will be on here in 2 months trying to get one!!
#3
i think its a good price....no point in buying overinflated packs when they come with rubbish games either...pre ordered mine and used quidco and got 22.80 of th eprice too....so about £404 all in...not too nasty at all...so thanks again
#4
Thanks Tom - orderded!
#5
just a quick one - do they take the money straight out of ur card once placing the order or do they take it out on the day they send the unit out?

is anyone else having trouble processing checkout on their website?

i have ordered one over the phone but have just realised that i'm missing out on quidco!

thanks to the OP though - the guy on the phone said they had about 5 orders this morning and that was all so far!

also he confirmed that they will only charge your card/account when they are ready to dispatch and the order can be cancelled at any time.
#7
Thanks ordered one using quidco!
No trouble with the checkout either.

They dont take the money until ready for dispatch.
#8
Ordered one too.. Hoping to avoid the xbox 360 HD DVD debacle this time..!!

Has anyone noticed that above the Sale Price there is a price crossed out 'RRP: £424.99'?

That is the same price as they are selling it for!
#10

Hello

Could someone point me in the direct to answer the following questions please.

1. What packages in terms of different Harddrive sizes etc will be available?
2. What will the UK RRP be for each of those packages?

Thanks

They may not charge until despatch, but do they do as other etailers do and 'ringfence' the money until they require it. This happened to me with (censored), ordered a Wii from them, then said oos so I cancelled, they 'ringfenced' the money for approx 10 days, which meant I couldn't touch. Very annoying. Having said that, the silly b*ggers have paid me Quidco cashback on it.

1. either 60gb or 20gb only... The electronics giant has said that only the 60GB version of the console will be available at launch, with the 20GB model to follow later.

2. £425 (in the UK) or 599 Euros (no price on the 20gb yet)

Excellent, thank you.

One more very important question I've missed, what is the release date of the PS3 in the UK please?
#16
Anywhere between March and September, depending on who you believe...

How reliable is this company? After the fiasco with the Wii I hope they'll send these out on time!

got mine :)

Choices have just called me to confirm the launch date. I have 3 on pre-order (one for me, a mate and my brother and I was the lucky one who put the deposit on my credit card!). Because I only gave them my address they wanted my bro's and mate's as well to combat the ebay scammers.

The fella I spoke to said that Choices are the only ones who will be selling the console only and the retail on the console alone is £425. He also said that Game et al will be selling the packs of the console and 2 games at £599 which is grossly overpriced.

Another statement he made was that there should be no shortage of machines as they have been allocated 3000 alone just for their branch (not the biggest shop in the world I can assure you) so the ebayers may not get the rich pickings they think they will as the machines will be in good supply.

Anyone heard anything similar or the other end of the scale?
#21
I wouldn't fancy trying this to be honest, their backlog on wii's took forever to clear with people who had been on pre-order for months watching as everyone else rush ordered theirs from the likes of amazon and john lewis while their pre-order sat in limbo all christmas.
#22
there is only 300,000 for all over the uk being released, so i wouldnt bet on 3000 in one shop!
#23
Choices? Have they a website or are there any other shops/sites that are reliable that’s taking pre-orders for PS3 on its own?

#28
Ordered don't plan on keeping it though

I order one - great find, but am apprehensive how quick these guys are at shipping on launch day. Does anyone have good or bad experiences with them regarding the Wii. I order a Wii from Currys and they did me proud and got it on launch day.

shame the store locator page doesn't load,

http://highstreet.choicesuk.com/

think I'll go with a major online site/highstreet store personally. Pre-orders must be starting any day now.

Has anyone else dealt with this company before?

Ordered on 26th January and have only used my Credit card in 4 other places online, where I have used them many times before.

Looked at my account online and now have £3600 of fraudulent charges against my card.

Just a co-incidence or something else?

Card cancelled but exposure is now £5400.

Must be something in the air. JL just called me up and asked me when I wanted my Laptop delivered... Trouble is I didn't order it. Card is now canceled with only £55 of fraudulent transactions.. I was lucky. (sorry for going off topic)
#36
Not much comfort or help I know, but I've found it a good idea to have credit card just for online purchases with a relatively low credit limit.

Its then easy to keep an eye on transactions as there won't be as many as if you use it day to day as well. Plus if the worst happens there isn't too much they can buy before they reach the limit.

Just had an email confirming despatch today for delivery in 3-6 working days.. Fingers crossed..
