This is a good deal. The console itself is very nice but psn is shocking beyond belief. Basically no one has been able to properly use their new ps4 today because you can't sign in, download anything.

People need to understand what a complete shambles the online part of this system is before buying one.
#9
Is this in store too?

Psn down all day. Millions of ps4 pretty much unusable.

Except that doesn't mention anything about it being white, having LBG3 or Last of Us. :E

Logged in on Vita a couple of times today no issues. I'll try PS4 later on. No big problem for me, I can play a few games off-line, bummer though... this was bound to happen at some point with the networking side as the market expands. To be honest, at times I have issues on PC. maybe we should return to same-screen gaming on a couch ;-)

How low can people be to do this to millions of kids at Christmas - what's wrong in the head with these people. :(

But on a side note its a shame so many games need to be online - I actually prefer to play offline

Do you guys think there will be better deals in the next couple of weeks? I want to get a PS4 but I figured that there might be better deals once the holidays are over and there is less demand.

I am thinking of getting a PS4 to and I read somewhere that the consoles may drop in price around March if you can wait but the games might drop in price sooner. But of course retailers might do their own offers.

But like I said earlier the PS4 is a good selling console for Sony so don't expect it to drop much

It is unbelievably annoying that they can't keep the servers up on the one day of the year that thousands of people will actually get their new console. If only they could have known in advance that this may be a busy day eh........

Have heard this question so many times since PS4 launched, and since then it has come down ballpark £50 or so. I was happy with my deal when I got it, and would I swap the pleasure I have had from it over the last year for the sake of that £50 saving..... Not a chance. If you see a good deal take it, and enjoy. There will always be another deal around the corner, and it will never stop, but who knows how many tomorrow's any of us have left. Just buy the damn machine and enjoy it.

Re PSN, I would still be able to play games in single player right? Or not?

I've never heard such a philosophical view on "Should I buy a PS4?".

LOL - same goes for the XBONE though - nothing console specific here :-)

And as to does it really matter which console you get - no - what really matters is what console all your friends that you are likely to play with online have, because if you want to keep playing with them, then that is what you should buy. Both machines are superb bits of kit, and there are thousands upon thousands of kids out there who can only dream of ever actually owning one, never mind getting a choice of which one.

Halifax was down for weeks last year due to IT problems...people still bank there. PSN like any network is prone to problems and vulnerable to hacking...

I think so. They'll get lots of sales boxing day up to NY, then release the cheaper deals NY sales.
I'm expecting; PS4 + DriveClub + GTAV + TLOU for £299.99 or something very similar.
Happens every year.

Still down. I think it's worse than people are making out as you can't download any games - Lou. You can't patch or update, you can't play online and you can't play games using you psn id if its not activated n ps4 with an email - so no trophies and progress saved. you cant pay any games online. So basically it's a paper weight all day Christmas Day.

Sonys online ordering has always been a bit of a shambles but thisis just ridiculous. If Microsoft can resolve the issues in half an hour first thing in the morning why can't sony do it in a full day.

Is this going to be like last time when they were hacked and it was down for a month ? Should have just stuck with the xboxone to be honest Sony are complete muppets they just cannot do online to anything like a minimum basic standard.

Surely you can play single players games, just turn your ps4 wifi on.

Xbox live has hardly been effected if at all. It was only the tv / films and actually they worked anyway kids currently watching sky on 360 and where yesterday as well. The gamming element on live was completely unaffected.

In contrast psn is still down ! Over 24hrs now, the last time psn was hacked this bad it was down for a month. Sony are a complete shambles when it comes to online. This is what happens when you don't know what you are doing and have no money to invest in decent infrastructure.

Both services are currently down,
You seem to have a bit of an agenda at the moment, both are equally as vulnerable and both are down.
Why do you feel the need to visit every PS4 thread to talk out of your a***.
#34
You are talking complete rubbish. Xbox live is not down at all my kids are watch sky via live and looking at my friends list loads of them are play cod aw online at the moment so get your facts right.

I have an agenda as I spent £300 on a ps4 and have not been able to use it for the last 2 days.

I suggest you get your facts right check the forums people are going mental about this.

Psn still completely down. Minimum I expect from Sony is a big apology for their complete incompetence and shocking none lag form plus 12 months free psn + for what that is actually worth. #sonyruinschristmas

I agree, Sony should give their customers a free PlayStation Plus subscription or free games, again. The PlayStation Network should be more secure? How come Xbox Live hardly never gets hacked? That just shows me that Xbox Live is more secure, right?

Wrong....

There's no need to visit every PS4 thread to say the same thing and then claim that Live is running perfectly, because it wasn't.
It's impossible to protect from a DDoS attack.

Thought there would have been some better deals going around. Looks like the pre Xmas day ones were the best so far
