What does the more expensive platinum headset get you?

Never had them. But thought worth posting. Wireless 2.0 headset is surely a bargain at this price.

3D Audio. Only a handful of games support it on PS4.

The 2.0 brilliant, especially when you install the custom sounds app on ya PS4 , optimised sound settings presets for loads of games. Great for movies too. A steal at this price. :)

hot. I've had the golds for a couple of years. I've been holding off on buying Platinums till a bit of a price drop.
#6
The platinum are very tempting at that price. Lowest they've been?

Platinums are very good. Has a better mic and better audio quality than the 2.0 headset. But you can't go wrong with the platinum or the 2.0. Both of them are very good. Use my platinum headset with both my PS4 and PC wirelessly.

What's the build quality like on this? Amazon reviews don't look that good.

If the headset would work with my Samsung TV I'd get them straight away but they use a wireless dongle rather than bluetooth so don't think they'll work. I'd love to watch movies at night as loud as I want without the missus shouting at me or banging the ceiling when shes in bed telling me to turn it down

Bought the ps3 version of these for £13 from cex a year ago. they put the sticker up as the price they offer for cash trade in. Instead of charging £38.

If these are an improvement over the wireless ps3 ones then this isn't a bad price
Curious on the platinum but truthfully I don't need to upgrade as my ps3 ones are going strong. (works on ps4)

Does your TV have a headset port by any chance? My friend has the older Sony Wireless Pulse Elite headset (model before the 2.0). It's on par with the 2.0 and allows up to 6 custom audio profiles unlike the 2.0 which only allows 2. Also had rumble feedback which I really liked when I had a pair.

The reason I bring them up is because. Even though it uses a wireless dongle like the 2 newer headsets. The pulse dongle has a 2.5" audio port on it. So you could plug anything into it listen to what ever is plugged into it wirelessly.

My friend has one still. When he wants to use it to watch normal TV. He simply plugs the dongle into the TV's USB port. Then a 2.5" to 3.5" audio cable from dongle to headset port on the TV.

you can use the 3.5 jack with these on a tv but you won't get the 7.1 capability

£44.99 for the 2.0 if you have Amazon Prime - may be a good alternative if the pennies are not too important and you want them next day?

I have the same issue with my Samsung 8000 series. Absolute pain not being able to hook these cans up to the TV directly. No idea why they dropped the standard audio jack off the latest TVs. :(

I do like the headset, but after a year of light use one of the earpiece clasps broke off on mine. Can't say if that's common or not, but the connective plastic is really thin at the hinge there.

Had a pair since Xmas, used most days, no sign of any wear on them as yet.

;) just got a pair of the 2.0 ones from tesco as they have priced matched. Used a friends staff discount and boom. £40.49. I would've been happy at £45. Thanks op 8)

I have had mine(the 2.0) for 2 years and they are fine build wise. The mic is rubbish though. I also had to put a small bit of black electrical tape over the wee LED as you could see it reflected on my TV. Good headset overall. I paid £59 I think for them and have been happy with them so at 45 ish I think they would be a good buy.
