I believe on dispatch but can't remember...

Do you also need the navigation controller to go with this? Also is this any good for my 7 year old who mainly plays football games?
#6
Unless Sony plan to software patch all existing FPS games to work with the Move Controller which will most definitely be much better than using the controller alone I can't see myself wanting to invest the money into it to be honest.

No you can use the normal controller with it, just is ergonomically more convenient one handed to use the navigation controller. Unless any existing football games are patched, or any future football titles are move compatible then it is difficult to say whether it will be any good.

My advice, don't rush out and buy a Move (or for that matter if you have a 360, Kinect) on launch, wait to see how it pans out.

I think the Wii has shown - in its early days - that patching/altering older games to make use of new tech does not work, so Sony should learn from that and not try and incorporate many older games into the stable of Move titles. The best way to go is to try and create new experience - games that would only work with the controller. A new FPS built from the ground up with move in mind would be interesting - KillZone and Resistance jerry-rigged with Move support not so much.

From the previews that I have read, playing Resident Evil 5 with the Move is a better experience than with the sixaxis controller.
Obviously you have to experience it yourself and make up your own mind but the reports concerning RE5 at least are very encouraging.
#10
Oh and by the looks of it, if you buy RE5 at the same time then you will get that cheaper than any other retailer at the moment. Use SEND5 for that.

Just ordered. It stated at the end that I won't be charged until dispatch.

It's cheap enough I suppose. I have Wii which has gathered dust for almost a year now. I even hacked it to play 'backups' from USB, that still never made me want to use the thing. I can't see this being much cop either, just a copy of the Wii for a console that can provide much better graphics, the gameplay will still be rubbish though. The Kinect looks much more interesting but will cost too much.

I personally think it would be a great idea to patch all existing FPS, let's face it the PC keyboard/mouse control has always been the most accurate way of playing a FPS, I find the right analogue stick on the 360 and PS3 just nowhere near as good.

This is something that most definitely the Move controller has in its advantage in my opinion over Kinect. Any existing FPS could easily be patched so that the Move controller can be used akin to a mouse on the PC, such as with the Wii's Metroid Prime titles.

To be honest other than weapon aiming movement, I cannot see what other use a Move controller would have in FPS's.

Or just patch in keyboard+mouse. Less hassle then and more people would have a better control system.

Good point, there is a device that enables mouse/keyboard support on the PS3, however it costs as much if not more than the Move Controller!

Certainly though, the Move has one positive over Kinect, whilst the Kinect has a more interesting approach that has never been done before, I don't think its a tangiable option for existing games like Move is, certainly not for FPS.

Unless games are designed right for Kinect, it stands in good stead to be nothing more than a gimmicky fail.

Ooooh quidco has just tracked at £2.12, I ordered RE5 & Move Starter.

Happy shooting.

Like Kinect, this will be completed shat. Nintendo, I hold you responsible for this nonsense.

Yeah, lets all put desks in front of the huge HDTVs in our living rooms, that sounds practical.

Buy a PC if you want KBAM, it's completely awful on a console.

I used to play halflife (counter strike) online for years, when i finally got a Ps3 and played a FPS I couldn't understand why anyone would wanna play them on a console, but slowly i'm converted and for me playing MW2 on my ps3 is awesome and you soon become uber accurate.

KBAM for PS3 would suck big style

And not forgetting Pikmin, which also worked very well with the Wii Remote and enhanced the gameplay there too. Also Metroid Prime 1 & 2, adding Wii Remote for FPS shooting.

Ok £22.89 but with quidco its almost £22 sports champions, the shoot, start the party, Kung fu rider, those are the official launch titles mate. Just add send2 at checkout. Each one is worth a deal ;)
