£50 card for £44.85 also available.
http://www.shopto.net/PS3/GAMES/PS350INSTANT-PlayStation%20Network%20Card%20%A350%20Instant%20Code.html
For me this is free money. Effectively reducing the price off any purchases on the Playstation Network by 10% (14% if including Quidco).

Don't forget that nearly all psn items can be gameshared between 5 people. This can reduce cost a lot if a group likes the same games.
#3
Wow do sony deal in actual currency? Perhaps microsoft should take a leaf out of their book. I hate their 'Microsoft Points'.
#4
can someone please explain the game share to me?
#5
One account can be activated on 5 ps3 simultaneously and everything bought on that account can be used at the same time. Meaning you + four other people could create an account share it and split the costs, getting items 5 times cheaper in addition to less cost through the psn cards.
#6
I didn't know they had these in Europe.
#7
It is a preorder for them. :)

I didn't either. I am quite shocked. By the way anyone want to start a gamesharing group?

Ideally, if we got 5 people on board, it would mean that if each one of us spent £20, we would all be able to get stuff worth £100.
#9
Combining one of these cards and the US store = great savings. Most the games on the US store are alot cheaper than the UK store.

how do you share accounts on a PS3? as when I tried to log onto my brother in law's machine with my account details it wouldn't let me :?

I visit quite a lot and would like to keep my XP etc up when playing games on his machine under my ID if poss.

just sign in using an existing account, its simple, you need to create a new login though

and a HUKD PSN sharing sounds good! i might consider it if it happens! :)

I've tried logging in with my details directly but it won't accept them .. so I now need to create a new login?

:?
#13
Create a new account on the ps3 and then log in to that account then try and enter your psn account.

Me too.

You all have to have the same taste in games first and foremost. Then you need to trust that one person in the group doesn't download it more than once. If you're PS3 dies then there's the headache of losing it all, I don't think it's wise to call Sony and ask for them to deactivate of the the five systems.

That's 5 of us - What we all reckon !!!!
#20
doesnt work on certain items like songs from singstore for singstar. These can only be downloaded once and when my ps3 broke I had to wait weeks for them to sort so that I could download them all again. Check the restrictions on the items you download.

Thought there is no quidco on pre-orders from shopto?

Please read the following before proceeding:

If your PS3 fails and you have your gamesharing account still activated, don't expect to ever be able to get back into your account again. Which means you will lose all of your trophies and games you paid for.

On topic - Voted hot, great offer. Finally PS3 owners can now get deals like 360 owers have been getting for years.
#24
does this mean we will now be able to purchace things of the us store with fake us accounts, it doesn't allow you to enter billing details for a UK card?
#25
You just create a uk account (no billing details needed) and just use the enter code option at the top of the store to enter the funds on the card.
#26
yeh but will you be able to fund US accounts with it?

I wish MS would dump the points system as well as I much prefer the PS3 system where you just see the actual cost, it makes me a lot more inclined to buy a PSN game.

It's difficult finding future releases coming to PSN. I'm only aware of Trine, Hustle Kings and Fallout DLC.

Geometry Wars, Braid and Castle Crashers are coming but not for a while.

this man speaks the truth . You wont be able to use these particular cards to buy stuff from the US PSN store. For that you need US PSN cards . I think Deal Extreme do them.

Guys, sorry to burst your bubble but game sharing is against Sony's T&C's and could get your PSN ID banned. When they say you can download it 5 times, they mean for the same account, for example if your PS3 is beyond repair you can download it onto a new console.
#34
How do u get a US account? Is it legal? Do you pay in USD then from the uk too?

Game-sharing is frowned upon by sony, but they won't do anything about it ;) These cards can be used on Euro stores only, not US etc. Creating a US account is the same, (sony don't like it but whatever :)) just use a US address - I find Microsoft's HQ works great. You can also create HK, and Japan accounts although the latter needs a guide unless you can read Japanese. If your ps3 breaks it's true you'll lose one of the five activations, but if you get it repaired you will still have it and be able to deactivate it etc, even if the HDD gets formatted.

It takes a great deal of trust between the people, and you have to remember that anyone of the 5 ppl can change the password at any time to take control of the account.

On the other side, they wouldn't be able to do anything more with it (other 4 activations would supercede new ones so the original people would all have the software downloaded and still be able to play it), so in fact the person who took the account would lose out on any new content the group would have bought - and it makes more sense as long as everyone contributes. So don't be tight, I buy stuff my friends wouldn't, and they do the same that way we all get to play a variety of things, expensive items are bought on a cyclical basis - ie I got the last £13.99 game, you should feel bad and get this one ;)

I'm not sure that the £2.15 saving is worth the hassle of cancelling my credit card again, or is the consensus that ShopTo is (now) safe.

If you are interested in saving money, you should note that the £20 codes represent slightly better value (10.75% off) than the £50 one (10.3% off). The .45% difference is tiny but maybe the £50 card is too much cash to push into you PSN acct in one go - you'll start buying stupid things like the animated Africa theme or T-shirts for Home.

The animated africa theme is free on the Japanese store.

Hmm... Doesn't sharing PSN accounts mean knowing someones username and password - and therefore access to name, address, DOB, credit card details from wallet etc?... I think you'll need more than trust!

I don't see anyone having mentioned this yet but this is an INSTANT card, the box is not sent out to you they just place the code into your shopto account and text it to you (if you've got a mobile registered).

FAQ:

* Q. Where can I find my code?
* A. Your code can be found by clicking My Account and then the Codes tab.
* Q. How long does it take to appear?
* A. Once your order has been confirmed your code will appear within a couple of minutes.
* Q. Can I cancel my order?
* A. Unfortunately due to the instant nature of this service once you have placed your order it cannot be cancelled.
