DAMAGED PACKAGING

Don't think this has been posted yet.

This is more than likely the original (phased out) PS Vita, as the new slim model is wifi only. Thanks to everyone pointing it out below

Similar to the xbox and ps deals that ASDA had previously:

" Please be aware that the product packaging for this item is damaged. Actual product is in original manufacturer's condition"

So vita should be in perfect condition, just damaged packaging..

If it's 3g it should be the original model I believe.

#11
Strange it doesnt say damaged packaging when viewed through the mobile site!
#12

Was thinking the same..

brilliant machine. knocks the socks off any other one and now I have my ps4 I can play wherever I want! great deal.
#17
Isn't this the standard price for a Vita nowadays? In fact I've seen it hovering around this price for around a year now! The only thing that would make this a deal would be if it's the older model, which is kinda rare these days...

It wasn't the 3G version, but yeah they had the older model with KZM in there, with a 16GB memory card to boot...

Though it's out of stock now, and I doubt they'd get more of the older models in 'new'

They missed a trick on these they should have made them into a phone and boom
they would have sold a lot more
#21
Whilst this isn't normally a good deal... it seems that most retailers have put their prices back up for the Vita at the moment.

Glad I got mine for £99.99 from Sainsbury's last week before they cleared stock.

Sony already tried that and failed with the Sony Xperia Play phone.

I got that deal, had a PS Vita slim, 8gb card & 10 game pack. However, it was a one day Amazon one day lightning deal, lasted several hours through the night before selling out. Doubt that deal will surface again.

Sainsbury's had it for £99:99

i'm voting this cold as this is the third time that asda have had this "damaged" box offer on with PSVitas, both my orders where cancelled and refunded, plus this offer is worse as it doesn't have games with it.

Don't waste your time folks

There is a Skype application available to download for PlayStation Vita.

The PlayStation Portable range (including the PSPgo, but excluding the original PSP-1000 series) can also be used as a voice-over-IP device. This was available with System Software revision 3.90 (29 January 2008) worldwide excluding Japan. Japan's support was introduced on 18 March 2008 in System Software revision 3.93.

Sony already tried that and failed with the Sony Xperia Play phone.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY does not offer PlayStation Vita game support.

It was the first device with PlayStation Certified status though, meaning PlayStation Mobile games can be played.

I know it doesn't offer Vita game support, my point was Sony tried this form factor before and failed.

Do you mean Sony Ericsson failed with the telephony aspects, or to provide a Android-based mobile telephone that could play (granted, a limited) selection of PlayStation titles?

What sales figures/market penetration statistics have you seen?

Did you write that article? I suspect not given the quoted prices in US dollars.

I was asking about your opinion of the Xperia PLAY, perhaps from first-hand experience.

From my usage/ownership I think it met the objectives but, as I mentioned, had a limited original PlayStation (One) game library, what was available was too expensive compared to titles available from Google Play (as it is now), & the onboard memory capacity was too small.

I do not think it was a 'failure', though.

From response to HDUK deals for vitas, plus great PS4 deals over month or so and remote play, sadly it seems demand is on the rise!

Yes I've used one, not a bad phone, but it was a failure as Sony never repeated the phone, as they easily could have.

I'd love Sony to release an Xperia Play 2. It would be so easy to fix the flaws of the original (which I still own, although it's not my main phone anymore).

"Never repeated the phone"? What on earth does that mean?

Picked mine up last night. It's the old "better" version with the old screen & 3g :)

The packaging was fine no damage that I wouldn't have expected to have seen if a courier had delivered it.

Didn't need memory card or games so this was a good deal for me :)

Without an actual phone the device just doesnt seem like a suitable on the go product as i c an buy a decent 3G tablet like Samsung Note 10.1 3G second hand now
and use some of the tools to play games on there
