I'm was tired of looking for a cheap PlayTV (thats INSTOCK!). Even preowned these are reguarly going for £45 on ebay + postage.

Well CeX have them available online for £38. Now i would presume these are pre-owned, but there is absolutely no information on the page! I got the link through google, and from google the link reads

Playstation3 PlayTV Tuner/PVR £38.00 new -

EItherway, seems like the best price available at the moment that is deffinitely instock, so when it arrives will let everyone know just exactly the condition and if they are indeed new or pre-owned.

Can get this from Argos new for only £2 more

Out of stock online, and if you can find any instore near you or even in a 100 mile radius i would be impressed!
Also I realise these are also available in Toys R' Us for same price as Argos but i don't have single a store anywhere near me, and they are also sold out online.
Otley branch near Leeds have got 5 left!
ha, awesome. well i said it but i am genuinely impressed, I have gone through the entire east coast and all london branches with out a SINGLE unit being instock!
To be honest £38.00 is a good price for this whether new or used. I'm tempted but I might invest in Freesat HD, good find though.
Argos have a couple in stock at Felixstowe which is on the east coast!
PS3 PlayTV £39.99 at Toys R Us (Instore)

Posted that last week. Might be of interest if you prefer new.
ordered ,thanks for the post.none in Argos around me
if i use a wireless video sender, could i use play tv properly. Only aerial socket is downstairs and tv is up.

So long as you can get a clean digital signal to the playTV box you will be fine. If the video sender doesnt allow a standard freeview box to run over the distances it wont be worth investing in playTV as it needs a good strong signal to work.
im not sure why people dont think this is a good deal ,rrp is £59.99 so even if its £38 .

its cheap bargain also in devon where i am could not find any in stock ,i will post what condition its in im hoping it comes with all the box and instructions and not just shoved in a jiffy .

but spose as long and it works it dont matter .
Will probably be hit and miss if you get the blu ray remote sticker too. Good price though. Think the RRP is actually £69.99 as I'm sure it used to be around £70 when it first came out.
I got one of these from Argos in Shrewsbury.

Something to bear in mind though....

Fitting this means your arial goes direct to your PS3 so you can no longer use your freeview in your TV, no biggie as Play TV is great, BUT you can't flick on the TV quickly (takes around 2 mins to boot up the PS3 with PlayTV!!!!) and you can't watch telly when your doing one of those long boring game installs - the longer I have had it the more it's starting to grind on the nerves.

You can get an arial splitter at extra cost, I've not tried this yet, but it's got so annoying I'm tempted to remove it and only plug it in when I can be bothered.

Sony don't seem to do updates for it, a bit like the Eye, whack it out but don't support it.

A negative view but thought I would share.

On a positive note - it rocks that you can record and copy to your hard drive, PC & PSP in a useable format!
im not fussed with a sticker id be more worried it come with the blu ray install disc
Hey, just to let you all know i did receive mine today. Well these are indeed pre-owned.
Although mine came unboxed, it was pretty much mint condition. Came with blu-ray disc and also the blu-ray remote sticker, all packaged well.

Not too worried about the box. I was more curious to see if it was new, as the link suggested from google!
i still havnt got mine has any one else got theres
anyone interested in pre-owned PLAY TV? Good Condition
