Pleo is a one-week old Camarasaurus from the Late Jurassic period and is a Life Form programmed with distinct behaviours. Pleo progresses through three different Life Stages; hatchling, infant, and finally juvenile dinosaur. When first awakened, Pleo is a hatchling. As you interact together, Pleo will mature becoming a juvenile dinosaur and responds to light, sound, and touch. Then the fun really starts! The more time you spend interacting Pleo the more unique your dinosaur will become. Pleo will display emotions, play games and seek attention. Includes battery charger, companion guide, training leaf, ID card.

My son would adore this, he's obsessed with dinosaurs and their cuteness. £100 is a lot though....

We had one that we bought from Cosco and it really is adorable!! We did, however, take it back after 8 months or so as we found the novelty had worn off and he wasn't being played with. (Costco are great for taking things back!)
I would recommend them though as they are really so life like! the only problem I found was that the battery didn't last long and it got very hot whilst being re-charged.
A great Christmas present.

Just a heads up, Ugobe went backrupt and were taken over by Jetta, their manufacturer. They are planning on relaunching the Pleo in the coming months. Found the following on a pleo forum:

1. Pleo will be restarted production in September with following improvements:-
--decoration of skin will be changed and would last longer and more run resistance.
--the charge cradle will have additional feature to recover over-discharged battery with short run time---GREAT NEWS !
--the neck and tail cabling system will be improved to make it tougher and don't break.

2. PDK will be released in September

Well............. I may have said that the battery charger was faulty and getting too hot :p But yes they take back anything within a year supposedly for any reason (not sure that applies to computers)

Only ever done it once before with a keyboard that was bought when my daughter started piano lessons and gave up a few months later. I took it back after we had had it 11 months and just said that the sound was funny  They never ask any questions :-D

Pleo is great but there is currently no support online, no downloads or updates. I would advise in NOT getting one as you need to update the software to stop original errors and you can't do it!
