Plusnet broadband currently £6.49 per moth, however an offer is currently on for 4 months free this works out to £4.32 per month (£6.49 x 8 = £51.92).

If you go through the Quidco cash back site you can get a further £28 cash back. This brings the cost down to £23.92 (£51.92 - £28 = £23.92). This works out to an amazingly low monthly rate of just £1.99!!

Offer is on untill Tuesday 18/05/2010 so be quick!

This is my first post, If anything is missed out or should be stated in another way please advise me. Thanks.

10gb allowance (upgradable £5 per 5gb). Check if this is this enough for your needs!

Unlimited if downloading outside peak times so no reason why it shouldn't be fine for anyone really.

Hot deal.

Great price, watch out for traffic shaping.

Traffic shaping is where ISP's give different priority to different types of traffic, e.g. low priority to torrent traffic.

I was with Plusnet for 5 years, I have a regular Sunday night Skype(VOIP) call with friends and it got to the point where it was virtually unuseable, I was ripping my hair out for ages trying to diagnose it, and in the end cured it by switching to Plusnet's gaming package, at approx £20/month, 20GB allowance. I ran with this for the last year without any complaints, (great service), other than price. I've been with talktalk for 3 weeks now with no problems, £18.50 / month including line rental, 40GB allowance, they have LLU in my exchange so router connects at 18Mbs, great download speed, no shaping problems yet. I know they get a bad service rep but so far so good.

I beg you people avoid PlusNet like the plague. They are positively the worst company to deal with; their service is appalling and their traffic shaping/coning makes the service almost unuseable. In addition, their hidden costs are appalling.

If your are in a LLU area where O2 has a service then I would recommend O2 everytime; much better service all round.

Completely agree. I was with them about 6 years ago and they went from being one of the best providers to probably the worst over a period of 18 months.
Expect to get what you pay for.

You are so very right, I was with Metronet and I have to admit that was the best service ever. Then I had a couple of different service providers, mainly because of moves. Then Metronet got brought out by PlusNet, who were subsequentlt taken over by BT; so when I joined PlusNet thinking I would get the service I was used to from Metronet, was I mistaken? I had a nightmare three months, before escaping their claws.

They are positively one of the worst to deal with in terms of Customer Service or Tech support, makes DSG staff look positively brilliant.

Have some rep.
