Plusnet broadband currently £6.49 per month, however use code 'offer' to get £1.50 off = £4.99/month for 12 months.

10gb allowance, plus unlimited overnight
8mb download speed

If you go through the TopCashBack cash back site you can get a further £40 cash back or £50 cashback if you take the phoneline too. This brings the cost down to £19.88 (£59.88 - £40 = £19.88). This works out to an amazingly low monthly rate of just £1.65!

Not sure if they are charging a connection/ transfer fee.

Also, not all BT exchanges are unbundled so may not be available where you live - check first!

I've got their broadband and phone line, works very well. But have to watch their expensive daytime phone call charges.

Offer is on until Thursday 8/07/2010 so be quick!

From the PlusNet site:

Remember to claim your special offer...

Enter promo code offer at the payment details stage to get your discount of £1.50 a month for your first 12 months.

Please note: the non-discounted price will be shown throughout the order process and on the confirmation screen but the £1.50 a month saving will be applied to your first 12 bills.

Looks like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!

Have a look at any of the o2 offers. They offer unlimited 24/7 and work out cheaper for a year. (you also get TCB/Quidco for o2)

I beg you people avoid PlusNet like the plague. They are positively the worst company to deal with; their service is appalling and their traffic shaping/coning makes the service almost unuseable. In addition, their hidden costs are appalling.

If your are in a LLU area where O2 has a service then I would recommend O2 everytime; much better service all round.

Had no problems with Plusnet over the years and they have fantastic customer service in my experience. They also frequently top the customer satisfaction surveys, something 02 can't claim.

Sadly I have got nobody in my exchange except what BT do so I get roughly the same speed no matter who I buy from. I'm on the top pack with Plusnet so get no traffic shaping.

we are on Plusnet Value @ £5.99 p/m.

It's pretty good but not exactly fast hence the cheap price. However they give you 10GB from 7am-midnight but if you go over the 10GB they have changed the prices from around £1 per GB to a minimum of £5 for 5GB. We get it cheap because we can't get a decent speed, which makes this a great price for us given we used to pay AOL around £18 a month.

This is what I wrote in response to someone else, who had a similar experience to me:

You are so very right, I was with Metronet and I have to admit that was the best service ever. Then I had a couple of different service providers, mainly because of moves. Then Metronet got brought out by PlusNet, who were subsequentlt taken over by BT; so when I joined PlusNet thinking I would get the service I was used to from Metronet, was I mistaken? I had a nightmare three months, before escaping their claws.

They are positively one of the worst to deal with in terms of Customer Service or Tech support, makes DSG staff look positively brilliant.

None of that changes the fact that I (and several other people I know) have had brilliant service from them with no issues from their customer service.

It also doesn't change the fact that they often top the customer satisfaction tables.

There isn't a single ISP out there that doesn't have some people complaining about them, just some get more complaints than others and Plusnet get less than the majority.
