Looked into these the other week, ended up spending more on an 8gb Sony memory stick (compatibility reasons, shortly allowing HD video on the tv etc).

BUT if I was going to go for one I'd have the Transcend 16gb. Simply because there's more reviews on them and they are meant to be very good for the price.

Voted hot for price and spec though.

Would anyone know if this will perform better than a Transcend 8Gb class 10 for Hd video recording on a Canon 550D as it always stops recording for me with the 8gb.

No it won't. What You need is a smaller microSD card :)

You could try getting one of those more elusive than rocking horse **** sd -> microSD convertors that have been mentioned several times lately

carp, got a jvc hm330 camcorder from argos last week for £45(£175 but mum used £130 worth of nectar points), this would have been perfect, mymemory has it for £17.75 or £18.99 through amazon.
