While you can't argue that it's good value, you have to be aware that the build quality is very poor.
The area around the interface is paper thin plastic and I'm afraid one knock will leave it broken off in your port.
Perhaps this USB key is best served as an internal USB port, device only for use with VMware or some other embedded operating environment.

if the person doesn't need one then why get one. they may need it later on into the future but by then these will most likely be cheaper.
