Cheapest 4GB Micro SD card I could find. (from a reliable site)

Was £13.50 - Giving you a saving of 67%. Not sure how good PNY Memory Cards are, but the review seems ok.

Free P&P plus quidco.

Play also have a 4gb Samsung Micro SD card for £5.99

but the 8gb one is only £9.99:

seems silly to get the 4gb when for just a little more you get double the capacity.

The pny 4gb does not work with TTDS nds card, better stick with sandisk

you mean you couldn't get it working - its a microsdhc card like all the rest.
any issues should be user error or a faulty card

True, except when your device or your storage requirement is about 4GB then better to get this for two reasons:-
1) It is very small, very easy to loose and not find it again
2) Spreading data on two cards is more secure than all the data on one card

If anyone comes on here that knows how to use an SD card to soft-mod a Wii, then any pointers in the right direction would be great.

I like to think I'm computer savvy, but the one site I've found that showed how to do it confused the hell out of me - involved Zelda, modifying games saves and all kinds that flew over my head.
I've got a black Wii (don't know if it makes any difference), a newsnet sub and a very big hard disk, and I'm sure the 3 should be combining in a beautiful relationship.

If they are so small and easy to lose then why buy two? You'd be better off backing it up to your PC or an external drive. My micro sd cards stay in their respective devices all the time anyway so no chance of losing them.

You won't be able to mod your Wii with Zelda.

I used a guide on gba.temp. It has changed to a newer method though, so I don't know how easy or hard it is to do using the new method, as I still use the old "bannerbomb" way of doing it.

Cheers Saint, much appreciated - can't get to that site at work, but will have a look and try tonight.

spring loaded microsd devices have a bad habit of firing your cards out at warp speed never to be found again.
stupid springs.

I used a couple of pointers off the tube and wiihacks.com has foolproof tuts. I updated mine to 4.2 as I knew how to do it with that version although not very different to previous revs. Done about 30 now , updating each one to 4.2 , everyone is still working , got a 250gb Seagate Expansion Portable for £40 out Argoos, upto 40 games so far and counting. You also still get £15+ for Sports and Sports resort each of the bay which pays for the PHDD.................AND NO DISCS ANYMORE....YEEHA !!!

If it doesn't work you have the old bannerbomb file you need an updated one. Also if your firmware is (i think) 4.3 then it may not be possible or atleast last time I checked. The black wii's also have the new chipset that will not allow blank media to read on the disc drive and is impossible to change, but you can still use USB loader GX which is a better option anyway.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGLE IT

Just did it after reading your request.

All I needed was an old SD card out of a camera (2gb I used) and this website.

They ask you to email an address and they auto send you links to the files you need (free). I got a little mixed up between the first and second parts but once I realised what needed to be deleted from the card (and not deleted )between steps I was fine.
