Well, they take millions of photos and tons of video in conditions of sub zero up to very hot, so quite alot probably.

PNY 16GB card is £16.99 and single 8GB is £9.99 from the same vendor.
These cards are class 4, adequate for most users. Not sure about HD-camcorders and top-range digital-SLR cameras though.

Ive got an hd flash camcorder, albeit a less expensive one - samsung U10, it works fine in that.

I have Canon HF100 and it requires class 4 SDHC card to record at highest quality HD footage. All fine.

There are 8 bits in a byte. Class 4 is 4 Megabytes/sec and my camcorder is 17 Megabits/sec at highest quality. So 4 x 8 = 32 Megabits/sec so i would have no problem using these cards

I see other high quality camcorders at 24 Mbits/sec so these class 4 are sufficient for them.
