Good price and voted hot.

But don't you all think that unless you really need one now, these are going to be about 12 quid in the Jan sales in about 6 weeks ?

Possible... But I remember last Januaries sales at Dixons when I was looking for a telly for my mam and dad... Massive savings?

Was £799.99 NOW £799.95...

I think it's safe to say they were extracing the piddle!!!

What are the read and write speeds like on these

Found one of these (be it a 1gb PNY) laying on the pavement whilst walking the dog. Full of a companies accounts

Deciding whether to tell the company and hope for a reward / employment opportunity or sell to a rival.

Oh, and good deal!

Up to 5000KB/sec Write Speed
Up to 12,000KB/sec Read Speed

Not too shabby, I get about 8-12mb/s write and a little faster with a drive I have.

Be a good Samaritan....Companies have back ups of everything, usually done every night

which would you say was best in terms of read/write speeds? the play one, or the one Ive got on back order from 7dayshop
http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=103935
I cant work out which is faster. I think the 7dayshop one.

Read Speed: 33mb/s (220x)
Write Speed: 14mb/s (95x)

vs

Up to 5000KB/sec Write Speed
Up to 12,000KB/sec Read Speed

I believe this is correct;

Up to 5000KB/sec Write Speed is equal to 5mb/s
Up to 12,000KB/sec Read Speed is equal to 12mb/s

So the first drive you listed would be faster (by 28mb/s read and 2mb/s write),

Read Speed: 33mb/s (220x)
Write Speed: 14mb/s (95x)

excellent, thanks.

I'll wait for the one I've already ordered.

I think that you could save yourself £2 and get the same Dane Electric one using this link:

The one at picstop (http://www.picstop.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drive/Dane-Elec-USB-2.0-zLight-Flash-Drive---16GB) is
* Read speed of up to 11MB/s
* Write speed of up to 4.2MB/s

but looks the same as the 7dayshop. Perhaps 7dayshop are telling porkies, or have dane elec (a well known memory producer) released two products with the same name and look, but differing in performance (this is unlikely).
