Good price, but only 1 monitor output I'm afraid.

Most graphics cards have 2-3 output displays, this is no exception, has one DVI, DSUB, and TV-out, not exactly a gaming card, but still better than most pre 2008 onboard graphics, voted hot, well worth the price.

This PNY 7300 LE at Play should be like this...

This could be just what I need, I've a decent specced Dell PC, but using on-board graphics (don't play too many games on my PC). However I've just bought C&C3, and it looks awful, will this be OK? thanks!
#5
If I have onboard graphics could I add this to upgrade the pc?

You need to make sure your motherboard has a PCI express slot.

phil-ip: this card won't boost your performance much in C&C3 as that game is still fairly newish. You might want to look at a 7600 GT and upwards if you want decent gaming performance

Midge: Yep you could certainly upgrade your PC by adding this into the system, however make sure you have a PCI express slot on your motherboard and not an older AGP slot, which this card will not work with

No I had one and cnc3 demo ran poor, its a bad card. Try a 8600 gt for a reasonably cheap average card.

would this be able to play HD??

HD Movies, yes.

HD gaming no chance.

If you've got a C2D processor (any) and 1GB or over it should be a breeze.

I'm having some issues with my computer and I'm running on just a 1GHZ processor and 512mb ram, and a FX5200U and I can just about play a HD file.

I'm using an Athlon XP 2700+ with 1GB of ram and an X1650 and I find I can't run some videos at 1280x720.

If HD video is a big priority then you might want to spend a little extra and get a Radeon HD3450 or a Geforce 8500 as those seem to have the latest video decoding hardware on the card.

depends on what you mean by high definition. High definition display? like the desktop/games at 1600x1080 roughly? then probably but if you mean say blu-ray/hd-dvd(yes its still used) then i wouldnt be so sure, the card needs to have hdcp and since this card is oldish(few years atleast) then i would recommend you search about it, hdcp=high definition copyright protection, used too display hd content. Although i would say running games @ 1600x1000 would be a struggle for this card atleast, 256mb of ram on the card is the bare minimum so 128mb wont make it great for gaming.

Hi, would it be ok to add this to a basic dell pc? I thought the dell's had a 300W psu and would not be able to run properly a graphics card?

it should be fine, 300W for a basic setup with a basic card(this one) should be ran with ease. As long as you are not putting 8800series etc in there.
What spec is your dell though? because cpu etc take alot(can).

I am currently using this card in my MCE setup. Vista 32-bit with 2GB memory and P4 3Ghz.
Freeview is superb and streaming HD in 1080p is smooth.

I would recommend spending a bit more for an 8600GT .

Should be good for hd playback but the 7300GT is too weak.

mine plays hd back fine with onboard graphics, bought this because would be handy to have a dvi out

its been this price for around a year got one last october for the daughter and its pants its only 128mb ddr2 which is painfully slow and before anyone asks you wont run HD content through it it can barely run a monitor so nothing new here voted cold

processor and codec have more to do with making hd run rather than just the card, as said my pants onboard graphics have no probs. sure you wont be able to run brand new games at its highest settings but at this price its hot for what it does

I bought one of these last summer. Beats the heck out of on-board graphics, I bought mine because I had to send in my 7900GT for covered replacement. I was able to play World in Conflict (at admittedly low settings) on it.
