Much rather get the Palit sonic from Amazon for £128 and overclock it a bit more than when something goes wrong you having to deal with the worst company in the world pixmania and also this is a PNY and ive never had any luck with the brand, there memory is the only memory ive ever had fail. This is not on par with the 5850 it gets near and sometimes beats it but on the whole the 5850 is a much better card and overclocks like a monster the Overclockers MSI is also better value.

Good price, HOT from me. Although its a toss up between this, the MSI 5850 @ £125 and HIS 6850 @ £135 both at OcUK at the moment. Tough decision for anyone looking to upgrade at around £130~, which I am!!!

Apart from the brand is there any difference from say this card http://www.ebuyer.com/product/226371 which is £10 cheaper?

I've been looking to upgrade my 4890 but to get anything that is significantly faster your talking a lot more money as the 460 and 5850 don't beat it buy enough to warrant the outlay 8-9 fps at most

Yes that has less memory so takes a big hit on performance.

So it does... surprised me that it makes so much difference!

so very tempted, but the sli enabled mATX boards cost a fortune, i'll stick to a couple asus 6850s in xfire

Pixmania dont get the greatest reviews , But i can say when my PNY 8800gt card failed PNY were good to deal with , posted my old card off to them and they sent me an upgraded card in return , cant say better than that ,

Also got a bunch of there Memory off play when it was on special and it has been perfect for 2 years so far

I would still plump for the 5850 though , lol

As the resolution gets higher the memory really does come into play its a false economy buying the ebuyer card.

I had 8gb of that memory off play and had nothing but trouble with it but if there RMA is as good as you say im tempted as this card has some very good reviews performance wise it passes the 5850 and takes on the 5870 and there's good headroom for more overclocking.

Heres a good in depth review of this card and its a big trusted site and they cant say enough good things about it so im having one.

bummer on the Ram m8 , mines has been flawless in both the pc's i fitted it in , Did you not RMA it and get it replaced or did you get your money back ??

The RMA for the card was great , The only down side i could think of is you have to post it to France ,

Im a bit like you , have been " do i dont i " over what card to get for a little while myself ,

Hmm that review does not help lol , for £126.00 it looks a fantastic buy ..

But i bet you still have a soft spot for that 4890

I do mate it was the big one of the last gen of DX10 cards and is still monster today, i have the credit card here and am do i don't i as from what ive read there's only really the sonic platinum and the EVGA FTW that beat it and the EVGA crushes cards right the way upto the 5870 and with these deals coming thick and fast on graphics cards what might be next or what might after Xmas prices bring

Sorry but this card doesn't pass a 5850 at all and it's nowhere near a 5870, no idea where you've got that idea from. This is a decent deal, but the MSI 580 for £135 is a much better deal for a much better card
