If you check your PM's you should have a mod message. It was removed as a dupe as this one was posted just before. Thanks :)

They missed the initial buzz. If they had this on day one, they'd have sold loads.

This is SOOOOOOOO last season lol

"***Pokémon GO does not track distance walked when running in the background."

That's me out. If I have to have the app open then it's not much benefit.

I agree, they missed out on the buzz on this one. Still I know many who want one and didn't get an order in so hopefully this will help some.

It's not too bad. When I'm in areas with no good pokemon I normally just shove it in my bag plugged into my powerbank. If I can catch things with the GO plus then it's fine with me!

Doesn't it just need to be open in the background and the phone can still be on standby?

It's a real shame this has been massively delayed, I rarely see people playing Pokemon GO anymore. Was incredible to see so many playing for the first month.

Yes and the graphics are rubbish

I used to walk miles playing this. After the first few weeks I discovered people were using bots and ruining the game for everyone else. Nintendo did miss out on the buzz by not having this from the off.

Gah, it's a pre-order 'cause if it was really in stock I'd buy one. CeX's website says they pay £81 for it but by the time it's out it'll drop down like a hammer.

So, you can catch pokemon without knowing what they are, without choosing your ball type, without throwing raspberries, without getting extra xp for curve ball... .
Yes I know far too much about this game. At least there's a pokestop and gym next to my desk.

I would interpret that as meaning that if it is a on standby then it is running in the background and therefore not tracking distance, but if you interpret it as tracking maybe the person who wrote the description meant the same.

No but content and gameplay do and Pokemon Go plays like a undergraduate software project.

Games do need graphics otherwise they're not video games.

Cancelled my preorder a while back. I played Pokemon Go for a couple of days and got bored. Think they released this too late - the hype has died down

The fact it doesn't track walking means it's pretty useless.

I had a previous playstation tv deal of mine deleted that had already expired and reached over 1000 degrees. Only noticed shortly after this deal. Messaged a mod and they say the heatwave badge expires in 30days. Doesn't explain why the deal was deleted though, it was even featured on their facebook and in their newsletter. This site is a joke to be honest but handy to get things out there from time to time.

Pondering on pre-ordering it to sell at CeX but then there's the risk they'll drop the value as it's back in stock.

I've had mine since last week. Having a OnePlus 2 wasn't great - it's one of the phones that doesn't just connect. After playing with some settings I got it working (Pokémon Company customer support is great) and it does what it's supposed to. The catch rate is pretty bad, probably around 40%. But the battery usage is much less. Probably a 10th of what it would if you had the app open.

That tracking does work but nowhere near as accurate as the app being used normally. It only tracked 200 meters on around a 1km walk and I even unlocked my phone and looked at the app to check eggs halfway through.

All in all I'd say if you're a big Pokémon fan then it's worth the money. And if you're after giving it a try it's still worth it seeing as CeX are still giving £50 cash for it.
