just been looking for a GPS sports watch. spotted this great price £200 + in other places. when I went to collect it went through the till at £200 but they honoured the price in my e mail. its the model that comes with the heart rate belt and the bike pod. (there is 3 models. just the watch, watch and hr, or this model with bike also. alot of reviews say no altitude. but this was added with a firmware update. I think this has the latest firmware as it mentions alt in the manual.

Reserve the item at your local store at this price and don't forget to go through Quidco or Topcashback for 3%.
Now, go to http://select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/ and buy the right amount of Halfords gift vouchers (£100 worth), then at checkout enter the code ELGHAL13 (type it in, not cut and paste) for 10% off the gift vouchers (you may need to register first). Voila!

Well, you've reserved it online, so what's the problem. Surely a company the size of this has a robust and reliable stock control service...

...not!

Twice Ive reserved an item at Halfords, had an email confirming item was put by and ready to collect, and twice Ive got there to shrugged shoulders and almost annoyance that Ive asked someone to look for an item I was told was ready for me to pick up, so I can understand why you'd ask this from first hand experience.
The second time they didnt even have my order in stock (I reserved 4 inner tubes that were in a sale for 2 mountain bikes and they had none put by and only 3 on the shelves).

Looks good - lets see if I get one when I turn up in store ! Does this have the bike cadence sensor too then ?

Fantastic value.

If I hadn't already picked up a 210 recently I would have gone for this.

this is a great price, sadly its not working for me. When i go to buy it does nothing but could be cos im at work. Great find tho
#14
Seems great , apart from not being able swim in it

I take it that since it's got GPS, a bike speed sensor would be redundant, hence why they only include the cadence sensor?

Hot, let's see if I can get one..!
#16
Never had one of these. Would this tell you your current speed and altitude while riding a bike?

yes it also has an adapter to fit on handle bars so the strap fits around it

Where does it state there is a bike mount included as there is nothing on the Halfords website, unless I'm missing something?

Speed sensor is useful on a bike as GPS can end up being not all that accurate and with a speed sensor you get a better picture of how far you actually travelled.

I would suggest that people looking at this for cycling use only might want to consider getting a garmin edge 500 bundle from amazon for £165 if they can afford the extra as it will be more useful for cyclists.

Pretty sure you have to wait for delivery, but they come next working day (allegedly).

Speed sensor appears to bring total package up to 135 ...?

wish could swim in it !

id be on this like a dose o salts , even though iv got other bills to pay

If it all works then great, personally I would rather a band like the loop than a watch, gps I can get around with the phone. Looks like the HR monitor is the H5, I have the H7 and that's great. Top tip if your HR monitor stops working, take the battery out and short the pins, polar HR monitors are buggers for appearing dead, but that resets it and brings it back to life. Cant compare watch and loop really, good price even if it is old.

can't decide on something like this or a FitBit Flex / Jawbone
#25
got mine today

I can see the fitbit being amusing for maybe a couple weeks

It's quite a bit extra though, not sure I can justify the difference to myself; the bundle is just under £164, more than half of the scost again...

I fully understand that and the Garmin is not an insignificant amount of extra money, although at the same time just be careful you don't end up buying the shiny thing that won't do the job because of a large discount is all I'm suggesting. I've done that before myself and then regretted it as selling on the item that didn't really do the job and then buying the right one cost so much more.

i have a polar ft80, and can tell it gives a hell lot of notivation seeing on stats how much you really work out. fitbit and similar fitbands are not great for exercise, as it's not counting your heart rate. For overall step/sleep stats they are Ok-ish, but not so much when it comes to exercise.
#30
Would I use this much if the only exercise I do is cycle 6 miles to work?

Got a fitbit pretty cheap a few months ago, its sort of interesting but it basically tells you "you're not active enough and you're not getting enough sleep". I still carry mine around with me, but its main use now is the silent alarm, as a lost key finder (its stuck to my keys), and I actually look at it only when I've done some sort of walking running type exercise, but only in a mildly interested type of way. It might be more useful if you could set personal goals, but I couldn't find a way to do so.. er I digress.

Reserved one of these Polar things anyway, price seems a steal and my current el cheapo HR monitor is just a constant readout with no logging or GPS, which is fine for the gym but not that great for anything else. Have some heat.
#33
Picked mine up earlier, and I think it is a good bit of kit, but going to take some getting use too.

I have a galaxy S5 and a S4 before that and use nike+, which I think is brilliant and I also use my phone for music, so not sure if how long I will use this for!!!!...

I struggled to get the relevant feedback during my run, as I went out without reading the manual!!.. I think screen view 5 is good, but only found it at the end of my run...

Having the heart rate is good, but not sure what I will gain from having that info.....
#34
£150 now
