Description

With the Polaroid Freescape PMP, you can take all your favourite movies, music and pictures with you and enjoy it anywhere. High hard drive capacity means that you won’t have to worry about which files to leave at home. Wireless LAN and Security Key Enabled connectivity lets you enjoy Podcasts downloaded from the Internet directly to the device without a PC and to share files with others. The FM radio tuner enables you to listen to the radio station you prefer wherever you are.

With a 480 x 272 resolution, 4.3 inch bright colour LCD screen, you can expect the visual experience of picture quality that Polaroid is known for. You can zoom in to pictures and display album artwork. Gloss black front and blue backlit touch keys make the Polaroid PMP a sleek, stylish handset that is light enough to carry in your pocket. A 5-way navigation button and auto/manual bookmark feature allows you to be in full control, with a customisable On Screen Display T-bar. Syncs with Windows Media Player allows you to transfer all content that is on your Media Player onto the device, so convenience and ease use is combined with the modern design. Polaroid Freescape PMP. Free your music, video and pictures!

Was tempted myself, but as the old saying goes, if it's too good to be true ...

Someone posted this as a deal some time ago, I haven't bothered to search for it, as I probably won't find it now!
It was a poor piece of kit then, and see nothing recommending it now unfortunately :-(

Yep, sorry Millarcat but already been posted - it was a dud then and even more so now. There's a reason its this cheap and the reviews tell the story. Rather wait for the Archos 605 to fall in price as posted on here recently.

Yep, mixed reviews, but lot of hard drive spage for the money

Polaroid used to be a name you could trust. Not any more i'm afraid.

The 40gb Archos deal recently from currys is much better than this for the same sort of price. Its like comparing a Bentley to a lada....
#10
I would buy one if amazon dropped the price to £49.99 delivered

I dont like Advance features:
Wi-Fi Capable
this is the con archos use(d) to get you(me) to buy other stuff to do what really it should do out of the box.

took my archos and dock back to Watford for a refund yesterday if anyone wants it.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Especially true with non-big brand PMP players!

Stick to the likes of Cowon, iRiver, Creative and Archos - more expensive but you do get your moneys worth. As for this particular deal - in essence a 60GB PMP for £80 is fantastic, but as soon as I see the Polaroid brand on anything that is not a Polaroid camera, I stay well away. Polaroid have tried their hands at digital cameras, televisions, photo frames, and mp3/pmp's... I can honestly say they all well and truly suck.

If you want something cheap for the kids, this might do ok... But for proper on-the-go entertainment stay away from this.

battery life?

dont touch them lots of issues buy an archos they are excellent made many flights bearable.
#15
Look at the screen res and size compared to the archos let alone all the other features and compatability its missing.

The archos will do more than just about any other player out of the box, if you want the web browsing and a few other features that wont be essential to most users its another £27 using the guy on ebay. Its a bargain at the price currys were doing them for...
#16
Wi-fi was the carrot which had me interested in this, but apparently there's no web browser capability. It's only for transferring data between other players or computer so I didn't bother.

Can I ask why?

I've had mine for a year and am still happy with it
