must be a misprice?

Awesome, what's the product/sku code from your receipt. You sure the price wasn't £9.97 lol? Did Merthyr have any left, as that store is usually rubbish for clearance bargains, as is currys cyfartha!.
#3
They may well be in some stores but these will be like rocking horse sh it if staff know these are that price they will have them all themselves just count yourself as very lucky and you got one i doubt even if they do have them elsewhere they are £9.99 it was probably a mistake and should of been £99.99.
#4
wow.... £9 for 8 mega pixels ! serious bargain:thumbsup:
#5
wow!!!!
#6
Just did a quick search online for reviews and a few people say that the batteries run out after about 20 minutes. Have you had chance to test yours yet, can you let me know what the battery life is like?

Thanks

These are £39.97 from tesco. From what I can tell so far, these cameras are OK. I would buy 100 at £9.99 if I could.

The code is 000884748 and its not a price mismatch

voted hot 'cos it's a great deal if you can get one, but sadly i too think they will have been hoovered up by the staff
#11
The product code says no results found. The link does not work either
#12
shocking, will check my local tomorrow, allthough echo the above ^^
#13
It is only in stores. The product are not in display but they have them in stock in their storage. You have to ask for it
#14
excellent find - will phone in the morning!!!
#15
seems a huge bargain! well done!

not to blow my own horn but if these take AA then they'll obviously benefit from Lithium batteries. And found these at Toys r us yesterday for my Kodak :)http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/455062/philips-lithium-batteries-aa-and-aa
#16
its 9.97....meaning end of line ...... good luck in finding 1 :)
#17
If you are going to Merthyr branch, ask for Ricky as found him a helpful guy as compared to all the others.

Their system showed they had stock
#18
Merthyr is the worst town in Britain though and high unemployment :whoops lol
#20
Great price:thumbsup:
#21
Price is probably due to Polariod going bust

That would be a shame, they have been going for 80 years :?

Since digital cameras came into practice I can understand there being a lot less demand for people wanting own the signature instant printing cameras. And what what with the recent credit crunch.. it would in no way surprise me.
#23
Ok, best thing to do so you can find one of these is go to your local branch with the product code. Approach a member of staff and give them the product code. They will then check the stock. Then ask them to see if any local branches have the product. There is a button on the 'eclipse' point of sale system they use which checks the stores in their cluster.

The people who you phone up dont have the eclipse system, so generally just go on the website and search like we all can !

if this is nationwide, might have to check this out!

All PC World prices are nationwide, they are controlled by the head office. You can tell if this is a one off by looking at the receipt picture, there will be a discount deducted and a reason code, as there is not, this is going to be the price all over the uK!

--

Basically, stock will be minimum on this, bear in mind it would not have been alot in the first place. They drop the price like this on loads of items to just get rid of the last few in the system.

Back in the day I could get laptops for £50 and base units for £30. No kidding!! They have got hot on that now and take the units back to warehouses now for selling other ways!

If you could get a list of the clearance stock in a PC World and Currys store, it would be like a goldmine. They have loads of cheap stuff !
#26
Yep 247 heat and no one else has found one?

A few years ago at PC World in East Kilbride a new Store Manager got rid of loads of stock by doing a reverse auction, i.e. who'll give me £100? £75? £50 SOLD etc. Got a bootload of stuff. I reckon he was on to something there, shame it didn't catch on. :-)

They where probably using alkalies, they don't work well in digital cameras, rechargeables or lithium will sort that out.
#31
Excellent, will check local tomorrow.
#32
I got one of these in Aintree, Liverpool. In the clearance section. They also had a Practika something or other for the same price.

Lol, yes it is a good idea. PC World stores are targeted on their clearance stuff. So they want you to buy it. What you want to look out for is the stickers on the boxes saying previously owned product. All that means is that they are returns. You can instantly get ten percent off these, and sometimes more. Remember, they are targeted on it so push push push!

Thanks. It's from the Sony k800i (2006). Older range still beats some today.

pic seems awful....prob ok for ebay but most camera phones will take better pics

Yeah, fish tank isn't the best but give time to get a better focus in natural light.

Thanks. Modern Sony phones have poor cmos sensors and lack a xenon flash. At least the sony c905 8mp does features this.
