Anyone have one of these? Are they any good?
#3
Yeah, i've got one.
They're handy things to have for little pics on the go, the picture quality isn't amazing, but good enough to recommend!
Watch out for the paper though, it can be quite expensive, so shop around.

Hope this helps.

Is it all about the paper like the old school Polaroid cameras? - or do you have to buy inks as well?

Zink Zero Ink

http://img.systemaxdev.com/productmedia/htmlimages/cten/prf/prf-1/zink-logo.jpg
ZINK stands for Zero Ink - an amazing new way to print in full colour without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons. The ZINK Technology encompasses both the ZINK Paper™ and the intelligence embedded in every ZINK-enabled device. The technology enables a new category of color printing devices and paper that work as a system to print in a whole new way

Been on HUKD lots of times at various prices, some less than this. There must be millions in a warehouse somewhere looking for homes. I wonder how much longer the paper will be available.

OK as long as you realise it's a fun toy, not a serious printer. Very small, poor quality and quite expensive pictures, but at least the printer isn't £100 any more.

Hot for now!

Check your phone is compatible HERE

I have te red one great for odd snaps of the kids or when you are out and about.

They could give these away as a loss leader if they wanted to and still make a profit.
Have you seen how much refills are?

They have the black one for £22 delivered at dvd.co.uk
http://www.dvd.co.uk/Hw/Polaroid-PoGo-Digital-Photo-Printer-Using-Zero-Ink-Zink-Technology-Black/W-CZU-10011B/product.htm

Bought a red one from there for my nephews for Xmas - no longer available. Got a black one myself from Misco. After a few teething problems managed to get it printing from a Mac via bluetooth.

Of course - just like inkjet printers.

As previously said these are a fun printer. A worry though is that the paper available all seems to have a best before date of 01/2010. PCworld and Boots have sold the paper very cheaply I suppose for that reason.
I have seen reports that the paper is Ok up to 2years after the best before date but I hope I can find some in date later this year.

My suspicion is that the these printers (and probably paper too) were discontinued some time ago. The printers were originally £99.99 but have been on clearance in many places for months - I've seen them as low as £19.99. I'd be a bit peed off if I'd paid £100 but for £20 look at it as a fun toy (which is all it really is) which doesn't have a long life expectancy.

I think anyone who buys them should be prepared for the possibility of no more paper soon, though there have been rumours of a Polaroid camera (dreadful!) with built in printer so maybe it will get a second (probably short) life.

Re shelf life, it probably depends how it has been/will be stored but as these are not high quality prints anyway that's probably not an issue if you can find it.
