Unnecessary self-censorship, as the title has already been censored by the film-makers (i.e. the spelling).

The machine at Bham New St. station didnt have this offer running but they did have some pretty decent offers such as Kick Ass DVD for £4.99, The Soloist DVD for 2.00 and Rambo (the new one) for £2.99
EDIT...Blu-rays now reduced to £1 in my local and still quite a bit of stock of both.

ps if you're picking an 18 certificate dvd (i think gervais's one was 18) - then you cant use debit card but have to use credit card????

yeah, they seem to use that as an age verification sort of thing, which is annoying.
you can still be 18+ without having a credit card! ><
i wish they'd just have an option to pay by cash.
Had a look in at the Empire High Wycombe earlier. Nothing on offer. Looks like this must be limited to the Vue cinemas still mostly.

Was in Hartlepools tonight. No Blu Rays but around 7 DVD's at £2. Only opted for MJ This is It as got all the others.

i hate people like that, but there is always one. so is this now £2 then?
i would def grab a few at these prices, but when some people will spend maybe £200 and clear a machine and then have the gall to sell for double, well i hope their sexual organs drop off.
Just got back from local Vue Cinema, after talking to a helpful lad I learned that someone had been in this morning with 2 large bags and cleared the POP machine of all the Blu-Ray's. But I managed to get a few bargain Dvd's as follows

Billy Connolly - Live In London 2010
Did You Hear About The Morgans (for parner)
Suck
The Water Horse (kids)
Tim Minchin Live - Ready For This

Not too bad for £10

i'm sure there is one of these in the worcester cinema near me but it doesn't say so on the site bit odd
The High Wycombe Empire machine is at £9.99 for most Blu Rays, but the Oxford Kassam Vue is at £2 for everything as posted elsewhere...

Nice find though - always wondered what it was like to actually buy something from a Pop machine - it's like a reverse postbox...
Wish there were some in Belfast :(
If anyone is planning to get some of these, I would gladly pay a fiver to pick up ANY family titles available, and the P&P to send them to me!

please pm me thanx
:D

Can I suggest you look for a Zaltar machine? Voted hot, even though no machines in NI. Just because it doesn't suit you, it is petty to not vote/vote cold.

You can suggest all you like, however pointless it may be. Fortune telling machine indeed lol.

Laughing at the irony of you saying it's petty of me not to vote.

Whats a POP vending machine?

Its the vending machines found in cinemas that sell DVD's. Appears to be some good deals from these vending machines recently. Not sure if i would class this film as one though, wasn't funny and found it quite dull and boring, especially for who it had in it.
Whats a POP vending machine?
The title Funny People being truly ironic as there is nobody even remotely funny associated with this film.

is there a list of what cinemas these vending machines are anywhere ?
Fantastic film!
Watched the film last night. Glad I didn't see this thread before I watched it otherwise it would have spoiled it for me.

I enjoyed the movie. Don't think it was anything special, but it was original, well acted and had quite a decent plot.

If you like this film first watch the best which is 2001 : A Space Odyssey, then watch Silent Running, Dark Star, Outland and Saturn 3.

I'd second that list. Silent Running made me cry my eyes out when I was a small kid. Watched it with my daughter quite a few years ago for only the second time and we both ended up with tears at the end. (Where's the embarrassed smiley gone!)

I'd add a film I bought last year from Tesco for a £1 called Moon 44. Not a bad little Sci-fi film with Michael Pare.
foulone
I have no idea what all the hate for this movie, maybe the Transformers generation?

It's not hatred, it's not a terrible film but I found it obvious and a bit boring to be honest. I wouldn't watch it again. Where as I could watch 2001 Space Odyssey time and time again I still marvel at it to this day. Douglas Trumbell is a genius who created the special effects, all the computer animations for example in the film are not done with a computer but backlit rear projected animation, so he even imagined colour animated vector computer displays back in 1968. Computer graphics was very limited back then essentially just vector graphics. I really should stop waffling now lol.

http://www.visual-memory.co.uk/sk/2001a/page3.html

I know there's geeks on here who like this sort of thing, here's what I'm illustrating >

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3oHmVhviO8&feature=related

The cockpit computer displays were hand animated, I don't think computer displays of that type of information had really been thought of in 1968 except by trumbull and his team, he used the same technique in the Andromeda Strain, I know there was Grail and Sketchpad in terms of vector graphics which look incredible from the 60s but they were design tools.

Anyway went off on a tangent there quite obviously!

I agree. Not completely factually accurate, but a great film. And I have no interest in football, either.
One of the most compelling on screen characters I've ever seen. Mr Sheen is superb in the part! Highly recommended!
Great price for a great film - helps that Cloughie was such a character
Superb film!

Bargain at £2.99 well worth a viewing!!
Thanks for the above comments.
I'm a bit gay as I don't like football but my missus wants to see this film as she loooooves Mr Sheen (the actor, not the cleaning product) so I'm glad it's a gripping film for us gays and Sheen lovers.

Magical stuff. This along with Mr Ben, Fingerbobs, Pipkins, Camberwick Green, Trumpton etc were proper childrens programmes. How we used to long for 1pm after Pebble Mill to watch one of these during the school holidays...

Long may they live!

they seem to be cropping up quite a bit now, usually in train stations, cinemas and shopping centers. They're literally just a vending machine for DVD's. Only problem is they won't take a debit card for 18 rated films.

I don't think Bagpuss is over 18's!! :-D
