If this has USB and it is properly divx / xvid compatible its seems like a brilliant deal. Even has a li battery. I will try and pick one of up I think. It looks like a great little product,to be picky they should have removed the dvd drive, save a load of space knock at least a fiver off the price. DOes anyone actuall want protable dvd players these days I certainly dont.

Regardless I am voting hot.

i was looking to buy one for my little daughter, and you found it for me.. thanks.. . great find.

There is mains charger and car charger provided, so battery life shouldn't be much of an issue... Considering that if you play it from USB or memory cards there are no mechanical parts involved, it should run 'forever'... 3 years warranty anyway, will try to get one. Thanks!
#13
you can buy a "dual screen" one for £70...

Its good to know how long a single charge will last as you dont want to be carrying the charger everywhere you go. My sister got one which is a non branded make and it last upto 6hrs were I saw Philips PET 723 only LAST upto 2hrs which is no good.

No battery pack on the ebuyer product = nothing like this

Is it back at £50? That's great news. A lot of people must have bought it the last time so I wonder what they thought of it. It's a shame that that thread has been deleted...

2 Hour battery life is quoted in the Tevion manual.
It also would appear to be extremely straightforward to make the player mutliregion for DVD's.

That seems to be similar to the battery life quoted for the similar Xenta portable dvd player on ebuyer.
Slightly disappointing but still looks a good buy

Does anyone know if the Aldi (not ebuyer) one has a av/in. There is no mention of it from what ive read.

#24
If anyone who is picking one up thias morning can check to see if it has an av/in that would be great. I can pick one up then if it has.

The Ebuyer one is not the same as what Aldi are selling tomorrow. Looks totally different.

To me its looks like this one on the Tevion support website -

http://www.fascin8.co.uk/f8/index.php/tevion/portable-dvd/7q-dvd-40656

Gav - I think the point was to show that there was another alternative to the Aldi one which although doesnt look the same does have all the features of the Aldi one and only 7p morev:)

*
1. With the DVD player turned on, press the 'Setup' button on your remote control, to enter the system menu.
2. Press the right arrow button on your remote control until you have the 'Password Setup Page' displayed.
3. Then press '8888' using your remote control. This will subsequently display a 'Region Code' screen.
4. Using the up and down arrows on your remote control you can specify the region you require. To enable multi-regional play we recommend setting the unit to: Region Code 0.
5. Press the 'Enter' button on your remote control to confirm.

as said in a previous post, the book says 2 hours. I played mine for about an hour and a half from new without a charge before it conked out.

Went to follow the instructions to make multiregion but decided to put a region 1 disc in prior to attempting to hack and the disc played so it appears that the player is multiregion out of the box which is good

Yes, I can confirm what the previous post says, this is multi region out of the box. Great job. rep added.

Just a few notes. I'm handling mine. It's reasonably solid. I'm not sure how the screen swivel function is useful, but if you don't like that feature, it has has many, many more.

The case is decent and comes with a little shoulder strap. The remote has more (tiny) buttons than I've seen on any other before, and it isn't the type you can lose, many functions aren't available on the main unit.

They weren't on display at Old Kent Road store, you have to ask. Six left midday today.

Damn, local store has sold out and none around the surrounding stores! :x
