Nearly had a heart attack when I misread PC for PS3. Shame. Still a great price for the PC version though.

Ordered and heat added. Ta very much.
#7
pretty shameful this.

Thanks ordered, heat added :)

Better at Play as you save pennies with Quidco.
#10
Yep... about the right price for 7-10 hours gameplay

Please people - don't start commenting on the length of the game. Every COD game has been about 8 hours in length and yet you don't hear complaints.

There will be a load of extra content for Portal 2 coming soon - Valve are known for their generous DLC (just think of the extras for L4D2). The first will probably a new set based around the test chamber competition winners, and given the number of possibilities over Portal with new areas and elements it could be quite big.

Awesome price for the game.

Can I buy this, play it and then sell it on? Or does it require a one-time activation or something like that?

I don't usually play PC games, so am not sure :)
#13
Would this be linked to a steam account?
#14
I bought one from Amazon last week £15.97. I'm returning that now and maybe order this - saves my £2.98 :p
#15
Grrr I bought this at 14.99 last week :(

Hot!!!

Yes, the serial number is tied to your Steam account.

Would this be linked to a steam account?

Yes, it is made by Valve, same company who owns Steam.

cant give heat, play had it this price before the scamazon crew decide to do the old price match deal.
when will they learn - price matching wont get the sales that price beating would? i man if they have dropped their price way down, why not knock another 50p off?
so the play deal gets the heat and this doesnt. scamazon have to learn to stop being so pig headed and thinking that given a choice, anyone would choose them over play, and the cashback.

if only they went out of business - yeah i can dream.

Quite probably the most ridiculous comment I've ever read here or anywhere else. Do you throw a tizzy when your local supermarket promises to price match its nearest rival, or the filling station drops it's price by 0.1p to be competitive?

Heat added. As for the 'this game is too short' whingers, bear in mind that the coop mode is almost a standalone game in its own right, and then (as has already been pointed out) there's the promised free DLC on the way. Great game, great price. I paid £27 on the day of release and don't consider myself to have been ripped off.

So a used PC copy has no resale value?

Sod that then, I'll get the 360 version!

As a poorly treated play customer after 10 years or so of using them, I will not be using them if given a choice in the future. I would definitely rather use Amazon. It's a shame because Play are generally the cheapest around. But be warned, should something go wrong, they are a royal pain in the backside to resolve.

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree; my family and I used to use them for years because they were often the cheapest and came pretty quickly.

However, for the past year I've been messed around on pre-orders (WoW Cataclysm), sent the wrong poster that was meant to be a gift for Christmas and expected me to return it at my own cost to get the one I ordered in the first place, then sent another gift in a stupidly large box so it got crushed in the transit - the gift itself, luckily, was in tact.

I like Amazon's price matching of Play, because I get to go with a company I have more peace of mind with and still get a discount with my student card. :)

As for the game, I'm sooooo tempted. Though I -may- wait for the magical tenner before I jump.

Heat heat heat!

I paid £40.70 for this on 360 on release day.

I regret nothing. Brilliant game with promised free DLC on the way.

Now if only they'd even officially announce Episode 3..

Apparently a shoddy PC release thanks to sub-par consoles.. :(

6.6 hours for me just playing through the single player, more to come from trophy hunting and playing through the coop.

But, as inspiral said - free dlc to come.

I take it you haven't played it. Apparently sentences that start with "apparently" are based on facts as solid as thin air.

Just a gamespot video I watched on youtube. "Shoddy release" was a wrong choice of words really, what I meant by it was not as good as it could of being if they developed exclusively for PC and not have to run in on lower end console hardware also. I Imagine this is the reason why in parts the 360 version looks better than the PC such as the shadows as the power of the PC would demolish a console's performance if used properly, but is completly based on my own assumtions and no to the other user I haven't played it.

Gamespot Video Comparison Video

Could it have been better if it was PC only? I guess so.

Personally though I played it on the PC and thought it was an amazing game, I’ve not studied any videos to compare different versions but I can’t imagine people will be disappointed.
